About
States of Power is a Grand Strategy Wargame where you command your nation's armies, economy, and diplomacy. Easy to start, but hard to master - no hours of tutorials just to start playing, and a full match fits in one session. The game is designed for smooth singleplayer and multiplayer gameplay with deep customisation. Control a World War II era nation of your choice - or create an entirely new setting with the built-in Scenario Editor and share it with others.
Command every division directly. Build an army tailored to your strategy - infantry, tanks, artillery, fighter planes, and more. Each unit excels against some and falters against others. Adapt to shifting frontlines and avoid overstretching your supply lines.
You don't need to watch hours of tutorials or read a wiki just to play your first game. States of Power is built to get you onto the map and making meaningful decisions within minutes, while still rewarding the mastery, planning, and bold gambles that strategy veterans crave.
With the built-in Scenario Editor, you can easily create custom countries, redraw borders, design entire scenarios, and script your own events - alternate histories, what-if conflicts, fantasy worlds and anything you can imagine. No external tools, no modding headaches.
When your creation is ready, publish it to the Scenario Browser for the whole community to download, rate, and play.
Develop your provinces with factories, research labs, ports, and infrastructure. Balance your economy - construction, goods, military supplies, and manpower, take loans, trade on the world market, and push your industry to its limits. Climb a technology tree from early-war infantry weapons all the way to the atomic bomb. Choose your nation's ideology - Democratic, Authoritarian, Communist, or Fascist and reshape your country through reform or civil war.
Form alliances for survival or manipulate others before betraying them. Guarantee independence, sign non-aggression pacts, send “volunteers” to foreign wars, or quietly prepare for war. Multiplayer diplomacy is fast and brutal - with global and private messaging built in, your words are weapons too.

Honestly, this game has SO MUCH potential. Seriously, it’s really addictive, especially the scenario editor. In my opinion, it’s actually better than the scenario editor in AOHII-III, which is saying a lot. That being said, one of the biggest problems I have with the game is that it gets repetitive pretty quickly. Even though the editor is great and the game is really easy to pick up and learn, there are still a few things that I think could be improved. For example, those gray, uninhabitable territories can make the map feel kind of boring. There are also some bugs in the editor — for example, when I add an effect to an event, I can’t remove it afterwards. One thing I’d really like to see is the gray territories being removed, or at least made annexable by other countries through the scenario editor. And, most importantly, I think the game would benefit A LOT from having focus trees, both for the main campaign and a separate focus tree system in the scenario editor, where players could create their own focus trees, similar to HOI4. That would add so much more depth and replayability to the game. Overall, the game is VERY addictive and has a ton of potential. I’m really looking forward to seeing where it goes. 8/10. Greetings from Brazil! 🇧🇷

Très bon jeu beaucoup plus détente que HOI4
i like it
After a long hard day of doomscrolling and watching youtube videos I deserve some easy and fun Conquest, this gives me it. Please add some more interactability with allies, such as asking them to join a war or asking for supplies
A great intro to map games and Hearts of Iron IV. Personally love playing this game with friends and that's why I bought it. Perfect game to play with friends with little map game experience or even for a casual run that doesnt take 8+ hours.
It's...okay? For what's being asked for entry it's a fairly solid, no-frills grand strategy game, but as it is right now it's also not a very deep game. Gameplay-wise, it's a bit of a mixture of Hoi3 and Vic2's combat mixed with some of the province-building of other GSG's. If you've played either one of those games, you'll feel right at home. Even if you haven't, the fundamentals are fairly intuitive and easy to pick up. It also come pre-loaded with a scenario creator, which is a nice touch and is fun to mess around with. Some of the mechanics are still not very well-explained in the tutorial and they aren't helped by the *very* simple diplomacy: There's no way to really offer trade deals for things like money or supplies, there's no real war goals aside from conquest, alliances are...fickle to put it mildly: sometimes they work, other times they don't. Research is also pretty random: You get a choice between three possible technologies, but there's no real guarantee that any of them will actually be that desirable, and while you can build more research labs, it's really more of getting more dice rolls than it is picking an active direction you want from your tech. There's four basic government ideologies but aside from the speed of generating war goals and some minor diplomacy, they don't really impact the gameplay. Politics and politicking is *not* the focus of this game, which I think does sadly make the game experience watered-down. Right now, States of Power is an alright map-painter but doesn't really go much beyond that. I actually do see a lot of potential for this game if the devs decide to open up the game for map and mechanics modding and embrace a sandbox-styled design philosophy. As it stands, for $12 it's...okay. Your wallet isn't going to be crying about it even if it's not your cup of tea.
