Я родился через 5 лет. В эту игру могли бы играть наши отцы и деды, но я не могу. https://youtu.be/RRCvPBaeors
My play time is low because all I've done so far is watch the tutorials and I'm already in love. (I played this and its successor Star Legions when I was a kid and love them both then, too, so my Steam play time is Asterisk City)
The game I'm most afraid to play (seriously, look at the instruction manual). Despite that, the developer deserves applause for their exhaustive work fixing bugs. When I have time, I'll dedicate a whole day to reading the manual and understanding how to play.
Game is NOT optimized for the present state of CPU. Also the queing on the commands is very slow. The mission time is not enough to handle all orders.
First I have huge amount of hours playing this back in 1989 and 1990. This is much improved and I look forward to deep diving into it again once I have more time. i really appreciate the work being done to fix the original bugs! Thank you for bringing this back!
This is a great game that was recently re-released, originally released in the 80's, where you start as a lowly starship captain in what is kind of an analog for the Klingons. You proceed through many missions, gaining ranks and privileges as you do so: destroyer escorts to your cruiser, ability to command in-sector military ships, ability to launch and conduct planetary invasions, and so on. You can board and take over other ships, send away teams down to planets, and even blow up planets (though High Command frowns on that, as they are needed for the war effort.) The game is very complicated, but fun. The thing that will cause most players to bounce immediately off is the graphics: they are all ASCII symbols. (It really was a game from the 80s originally.) That's too bad, because there is no other game I've found that gives you the immersive feel of being a captain with the freedom to conduct your missions however you choose to carry out your orders. In your mind you very quickly stop seeing ASCII symbols and start seeing planets, fleet bases, and the hated Federation heavy cruisers. Great game.
This. This is perfection. The manual, the input method, the graphics ..... while I never played this game specifically in earlier times, I wish I had, haha. This brings back memories of other games I haven't played in years since losing my 386 to a tragic attic-cleaning accident. Thank you.
What a fun game with lot of depth to it.
The game is like a PB&J sandwich. I often don't want it but I enjoy it a lot when I actually have it.
Wonderful and very detailed starship simulator. I keep coming back to it.
