Star Fleet Armada Rogue Adventures

Very deep strategic, small-fleet management, rogue-like title from Indy dev. Its retro graphics and sound are charming and efficiently display the wealth of information needed to navigate the multi-star playing field. Ultimately re-playable, updated frequently, and worth supporting.

I tried......I truly tried so hard since I loved Star Control as a kid. You want fleet management, action, and space adventure without having to put on your reader glasses? I'd recommend spending the extra cash on Star Sector, or Stellaris. Addition: Press "esc" to skip animation. Yea, on some computers it doesn't work. All it does is bring up help menus externally. I already removed this product from my library.

Totally awesome game! If you loved Star control 2 and Starflight - buy this one instantly. Do not be discouraged by simple graphics - this is fun, smart-paced and, due to varied gameplay, will keep you entertained. It is rogue-like, but not punishable by any means (i'm looking at you, FTL) Planet exploration are like in Star control 2, but even better. Space battles are pausable and let you think tactically. Comets and stars encounters features shmup-like mechanic, but again - no punishing difficulty. Anomalies, wormholes and derelicts encounters are quite unique as well. The only thing this one lacking is diplomacy and story, but everything else it has is a sheer delight to play. Thumbs up!

Game is abandon ware now. Steam needs to take it off the store page since they lied about finishing the dlc.

This is really cool. There aren't enough games like this. It looks bad, but in such an endearing way, and what is hidden underneath is pure space candy! I had some issues with the game but the dev promptly went and gave me a temporary fix. They're working on an update which should fix it for everybody soon, great experience!

nope ! sorry but just trying to figure out combat is a headache. this game belongs in the late 80's anyway. i am glad that i did not spend all that much on it. i do believe that i gave it better than half a chance. i did read the manual but, going to the game it got ??? a lot of the button were tiny, hard to see unless i sat up close to the screen. just not for me

This is the game I was looking for. A worthy (and much better!) Successor to Starflight with a lot of things done better. The best part for me is the fight - tactical, deep, challenging and fun. Real time with active pause - this approach is well thought out by the developer. Space exploration is very enjoyable. What can be tedious grinding - mining - is done quickly and neatly here. What you can see and feel is true love for the genre. The graphics are simple. But after a while, the immerse takes over. I think the lack of a main storyline is a plus - this way I want to get back into the game and play it again with another race in a different randomly generated space. As for some cons: During the first 38 hours of the game I encountered 2 game crashes in battles (quick save to the rescue) All in all, I recommend this game to all space exploration fans. It's totally worth the full price. Great job for a one-man game developer.
