The mix of Snake+Quake! Quite clever, eh? We thought so. SQUAKE is a massive multiplayer action-packed combat-trains game! Collect wagons to become longer. Destroy other trains and try to not die by hitting yourself, because that would be totally embarrassing.
Squake, squake, you won't let me catch a break...
I don't even know where to start, i loved this game so much, the simple mechanics, the cute graphics, everything was perfect. While the trailer and screenshots don't do it justice, the actual gameplay will completely change what you initially thought of the game at the first sight. I have 21 hours in-game as of writing this review (minus around 4 for idling cards), i've been playing alot of it in the last two days without taking a break because it's incredibly addictive. You have few modes, Arena (Which is basically Free for All), Team Battle which includes collecting dynamite and bringing it back to the base, CTF (Capture the Flag), and an endless mode with no time limit or anything, you can use it for achievements. People (and the devs themselves) mention Snake as inspiration for the game, but personally i get a powerful Volfied vibe aswell. There are only few games that got me so addicted, this was one of them, and i can recommend it from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for this little underrated gem.
🎮 SQUAKE 🎮
Sadly not that enjoyable. Imo it's okay for 30 minutes or maybe an hour if you are really bored but not for 4.49€. The price is way too high for a game thats not even better then the free version. Anyways im still happy that i got a key for this game and maybe will go for the Achievements.
I enjoyed the game a while back, wanted to play a little bit today, and was unable to do so as the servers are down. Seems to be this way for a month now and no reaction from the developers. IMHO an unplayable game should not still be sold. Edit: As far as I can tell, it took more than a year for Steam to disable purchase for a game that is unplayable ...
Be warned! Game is currently unplayable. When you boot up the game, this is all you get: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1444732324 Follow the discussion for updates: https://steamcommunity.com/app/526920/discussions/0/1728701877516296752/ Edit 24/8: Over one month later still not fixed or a reaction from the dev. Not following the game anymore.
Another live service game that didn't live for that long.
SQUAKE is shutdown! You cannot do anything but look at the "no server" screen that shows at launch. It's dishonest that they're selling this for $4: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1750958364
SQUAKE is an online-only snake game with a simple power-up system. The core idea of adding multiplayer and power-ups to snake game is solid enough and the developer has been very active fixing bugs and minor issues so far. Unfortunately SQUAKE suffers from a few major flaws at the moment that make it lot less fun than it could be. First of all the steering controls (at least on a keyboard) are rather unresponsive. Not sure if it's just server lag or something else but it's rather annoying in any case. More importantly, the game doesn't have nearly enough players at the moment. I have never seen more than a few people playing each arena and this is simply not enough for enjoyable gameplay. The game does feature bot players too, but they are extremely stupid and provide pretty much zero challenge. Unfortunately I can't really recommend SQUAKE in its current state. If the developer can either attract more players or improve the bots I might give the game another chance in the future. I received a pre-release copy of game for free from a developer giveaway but this didn't affect my review. The good: - Nice idea The bad: - Desperately needs more players as the bots are terrible - Unresponsive keyboard controls - Not a big fan of some of the game modes/arenas - Very basic audio
Squake a fun, easy and yet addictive game but what is squake? well its snake set in an online arena all you do is collect different color gems or powerups what can give advantages and disadvantages sounds boring? well then comes the online arena in to place with different game modes like: Domination: be the longest for a period of 1:30 once your timer hits 0 you win Dynamite: bring your color dynamite to your base and get your counter to 0 before the other team does Capture the flag: like Dynamite 2 teams but now its bring the flag to the other side and a few others its called snake combined with quake although you cant shoot in this game you have to try to crash your oponents into the wall or into you so you can keep dominating the game while playing you earn ingame coins with that you can unlock higher level powerups that you pick up in the game the higher level only means that the power up you picked up lasts longer or you can change your exhaust smoke all in all a very fun game with a few minor bugs like spawning inside a sawblade what means instant death lol
Boring.
