Spy Fox In: Cheese Chase

Tedious as hell with a Spy Fox coat of paint over it. Not as fun as the point and click adventures, unfortunately.

Painfully simple score attack game for kids with awkward mouse controls. Didn't play very far, got bored quick. Kids might enjoy this though I dunno, it's really basic, other humongous games at least have level design most of the time.

THIS game really takes me back to my childhood. I used to play this on my parents' macintosh apple (the one that actually looked like an apple) in the late 90s and early 2000s. This game, Nanosaur, and MDK are what got me into PC gaming. This game has an excellent music selection, the mechanics are fun and simple, and the graphics are cartoonish and fun, which gives it a more timeless feel. It's easy, but it can be challenging, even replaying it now after 18 years.

[/h1] Before you turn away because of my thumbs down, remember one this: If you have ANY inkling of nostalgia for this game and simply want to rejoice in what is technically a working, on-the-side fun game, then go for it – especially when it’s on sale. BUT, if you came to this title looking for a further instalment of the prior point-and-click games, you´ll be sourly disappointed. [h3] Is it still worth today? [/h3] This question is honestly a lot harder to answer than I want it to be. The game is okay. The controls are feeling old and unpolished, the gameplay is repetitive and there’s no more to it than meets the eye. If you buy this in the 5-games SpyFox saga bundle, you´re fine off with it. Otherwise, maybe skip this one if you have no other particular reason to buy it. In the most general sense, it´s pretty boring and not everything runs super smooth. You can tell the age from how hitboxes work, how the levels scroll and how everything else comes together. I really think it's fine, but not more than that and thus I think the price asked is a bit high - even for someone looking at this through a nostalgic pair of glasses.
