Just a basic language editor. Does not include any language guide whatsoever. If you're not fluent in another dialect of basic you will be on your own. The included assets are in a library which I assume is built into the editor code since I couldn't find it's location. To load graphics you use a LoadLibrary command which if you don't know where the library is to begin with or how to create your own then you'll not be able to make anything beyond the included assets. I can't recommend this how it stands. I can't even believe they would release it without a language guide. or any kind of help file. If there is one and I simply missed it then bring it to my attention
This is so hilariously bad that I'm considering the idea that it was either intentionally created to frustrate people or was created over the course of a weekend and then quickly abandoned. There's no way this should've ever been put on Steam.

- The entire manual is in French, even when you choose 'English'
- Example excerpts from the manual are literally broken
- Assets from the library don't even display correctly
- The 'save' and 'New Source File' buttons are in completely arbitrary places
- There's no prompt when you close tabs (or worse, close ALL tabs at once), so you have to be extra careful to save your work with the cumbersome save function that exists all the way in the left-panel menu
- The 'debug' and 'run' functions both run your script, except if you use 'run' instead of 'debug', you get to have absolutely no idea what went wrong (terrible feature, IMO)
- There doesn't seem to be a map editor, and while this is a very 'modern' and minor gripe, it still adds yet another layer of, "Where did I draw these tiles, anyway?" to the mystery of using this engine.
- This software hasn't been updated in over a year
- It's probably abandoned
I've only been using it for a short period of time, so this will absolutely be updated. I can't wait to see how much of this software is utterly broken, half-assed and intentionally made horrible for the user. This is probably the worst piece of software I've ever seen on Steam. On the off-chance that the developer even cares a little bit, here are my suggestions to make this better:

- Please add an English manual, even if it's written as poorly as the rest of the documentation. Using Google Translate for your engine is so annoying.
- Please add normal 'save' and 'load' functions
- Please don't neglect projects like this in the future [.list]
Sprite Basic 2 is a bad game engine that lacks tutorials and documentation. There are few methods that are listed in the documentation and exporting the project as a stand-alone software is not documented. There is no information on how to publish the game on Steam. Another game engine released by Pix Arts is HTML5 Javascript Game Engine that is also lacking in quality and information. These two softwares are part of a bundle that also includes Web Buttons Designer, another bad software that allows you to design buttons. You can design buttons for free on the internet if you don't know CSS. Pix Arts hasn't updated the Sprite Basic 2 game engine for more than two years while the Javascript game engine is also neglected.
