Hilarious game, thus far very amusing
An absolutely wonderful experience for fans of games like Warioware or fans of the horror genre. Sadly it's been 5 years since the game came out and it is still unfinished (The devs made a statement that they were given enough funding to make the majority of the game's chapters and if the game sold well enough they would be given additional funding to finish it, which unfortunately it didn't sell as well as they were hoping for). Still though, it is definitely worth the price of admission, I only hope that maybe the game will eventually see the proper ending it deserves
cool that i get to play warioware games on this platform
one of the most best games for the price so much good fun and grate character features
Developed by Beeswax Games and published by DreadXP, SPOOKWARE delivers a refreshing twist on the microgame genre by combining lightning-fast gameplay with an amusing supernatural adventure. Instead of focusing on traditional horror, the game embraces a playful, Halloween-inspired atmosphere where skeletons, ghosts, monsters, and other spooky creatures are more charming than frightening. The story follows three skeleton brothers who embark on an unforgettable road trip through the afterlife after realizing they wasted their previous lives watching horror movies instead of creating memorable experiences themselves. This unusual premise immediately establishes a humorous tone that remains consistent throughout the entire adventure, giving players plenty of reasons to smile while navigating an increasingly bizarre world. The heart of SPOOKWARE lies in its extensive collection of over ninety microgames that test reflexes, observation, and adaptability. Every challenge lasts only a few seconds before another completely different objective appears, demanding constant attention and quick decision-making. One moment players may be escaping monsters or solving supernatural puzzles, while the next they could be performing absurd everyday activities or participating in ridiculous scenarios that exist purely for comedic effect. Because each microgame introduces fresh mechanics and objectives, the gameplay rarely feels repetitive, encouraging players to stay alert as they rapidly switch between entirely different tasks. Unlike many collections of standalone minigames, SPOOKWARE successfully integrates its gameplay into a larger adventure. The skeleton brothers travel across numerous strange locations populated by eccentric characters, with each destination introducing unique gameplay concepts and humorous story events. Whether investigating unusual mysteries, joining unexpected social activities, or encountering bizarre supernatural residents, every chapter contributes to both the game's expanding world and its ever-growing selection of microgames. The narrative is lighthearted and self-aware, delivering plenty of amusing dialogue and visual jokes without slowing the pace of the gameplay. The game's presentation complements its energetic design remarkably well. Its cartoon-inspired visuals transform familiar horror imagery into something colorful and approachable, making the experience suitable even for players who normally avoid horror-themed games. The exaggerated character animations, expressive environments, and vibrant visual effects ensure that every microgame communicates its objectives clearly despite their extremely short duration. Meanwhile, the upbeat soundtrack keeps the action moving at a relentless pace, enhancing both the comedic moments and the tension created by increasingly difficult gameplay sequences. Replayability is another area where SPOOKWARE performs well. As players unlock additional microgames throughout the campaign, they gain access to an endless mode that randomly combines completed challenges into progressively faster sequences. This mode rewards mastery of every mechanic introduced during the story while providing a worthwhile challenge for players aiming to improve their reaction speed. Full controller support also allows the frantic gameplay to remain comfortable regardless of whether players prefer a keyboard or gamepad, making the experience accessible across different playstyles. One aspect prospective players should be aware of is that the game's original episodic vision was never fully completed. While the available content offers a satisfying standalone experience with a prologue and two full episodes, the developers ultimately concluded production before finishing the remaining planned chapters. Fortunately, the existing campaign still feels polished and content-rich, although some players may naturally wonder how much larger the adventure could have become if development had continued. SPOOKWARE's biggest strengths are its creativity, humor, and relentless variety. Every few seconds introduce another unexpected situation, preventing the gameplay from becoming stale while constantly rewarding quick thinking and adaptability. Some newcomers may find the rapid pace overwhelming, especially since many challenges provide only seconds to understand completely new mechanics. Likewise, the incomplete long-term roadmap leaves a small sense of unrealized potential. However, these shortcomings do little to overshadow the originality and entertainment value packed into the existing game. Overall, SPOOKWARE stands out as one of the more inventive indie microgame collections available on Steam. Its combination of frantic gameplay, charming storytelling, memorable characters, and delightfully silly horror aesthetic creates an experience that feels both distinctive and consistently enjoyable. Players looking for a fast-paced adventure filled with unpredictable humor and endless creative ideas will likely find plenty to appreciate throughout its quirky journey across the afterlife. beewax games i hope you get killed
Juegazo.
Silly, absurdist game with a lot of vibes and style. The game follows the story of three brothers that go into absurd adventures. Through the chapters, you basically go from point A to point B, talking with NPCs in a pretty linear path, while you play a variety of microgames with dark-humor theming. The story takes speed at the latest chapters. Each chapter contains a main mechanic / gimmick, some of them may include using keyboard and mouse, you can still use a gamepad controller, but for the mouse ones, you may want to switch. My favorite chapter is the restaurant one, where you meat grind corpses in a time-management restaurant meta-game and the last (current) chapter 5 with 3D microgames. The game seems to be on an unfinished state. The devs didn't continue to develop after chapter 5, which ended the story in a high note. It's still a playable game, but it's a shame I won't see the end of the story of the three brothers anytime soon (if ever).
This has to be the only Warioware-like I can recommend. Seriously, it's silly, it's spooky, it's adorable, and it has music that blends perfectly with it's photoshop hell artstyle. It's fun to play, and actually feels like Warioware, unlike some others that I will respectfully not mention, that are just too... bland. What I'm saying is, go play this game, even if it's not finished, it will always be a treasure.
