If this game was an actual book 90% of it would be "then they jumped from one pole to the next and then the next platform in the exact same manner they did for the last 12 hours." Boring ass game bro. The writing is HORRENDOUS. The "abilities" that are "unique" to each level are just reskinned switches. Take turns activating your power and that's most of the puzzles. This "ability" repetition is most obvious in the final moments of the game where they give you THREE DIFFERENT WEAPONS. One of them a MINIGUN, another one a SWORD. They work the EXACT SAME WAY. A SWORD and a MINIGUN. NO DIFFERENCE BESIDES LOOKS. That is a prime example of this game. It sucks. Thanks.
This game was an absolute disappointment. In both story and gameplay and it does not deserve the positive rating that it has going on. The story is horrible dull and the villain is just comically badly written. I'll quote another person that wrote "The characters get so excited when they enter yet another seemingly identical "story" where you have to dodge lasers and jump over obstacles". And them hating on each others genres gets quick pretty fast. When in my opinion, Sci-Fi and Fantasy isn't completely different genres. They're sister-genres and often overlap. It would be more understandable for the banter between them if one wrote fiction and the other non-fiction. The 20+ hours I have on this game is mostly idling in the game while walking away and doing better things with our time together. Overall, me and my boyfriend were not entertained and the somewhat cool environments could not dazzle us enough to recommend this game in the end.
Just dont play with a dumbass named Lenwood Miles III and it'll be an enjoyable experience
Easily 10/10. Hazelight Studios did it again
I hate to say this but this game does not deserve it's positive rating and I can't recommend it. This is a platformer that wildly misses out on its potential. If you want a good two player coop game I would strongly recommend "A Way Out" instead. If you really like coop platformers then go for Trine. This game has such a horrible story and such missed opportunity. Every "story" the main characters go to totally lacks characters and dialogue and my wife and I were just laughing the whole time. The characters get so excited when they enter yet another seemingly identical "story" where you have to dodge lasers and jump over obstacles. The overarching meta plot and villian is also just comical. I feel people are just rating this positively because there are so few games in this 2 player coop genre. It has fun moments and a few of the stories are fun for periods of time but overall this is just dumb.

This game is such a step down from It Takes Two. I see however it has received quite positive reviews, which is a little surprising to me. It's like they saw all the funny videos of couples playing the last game, where one is frolicking along while the other is fighting for their life, and they decided that they needed to remove that. There are so few parts of this game where it feels like you are let off the predetermined rails. The bulk of it is just looking for the purple/green pop up and pressing the button it tells you to press. There were maybe three moments where the platforming was actually challenging. It's also bold to present a game about authors who are fighting to make sure their ideas aren't stolen, only for them to explain in 99% of the game that the story they have just glitched into is just an idea that they worked on years ago and they know it isn't very good. Villain is so badly written. What were they thinking with that...
