I do wish I liked this game a bit more, but overall I still had a good time. Sadly a few things kept me from loving it. A handful of deaths were caused by getting stuck on the environment or the camera making it hard to get a good grip on if an attack will land or not. I also wish there was a retry option instead of having to go back to the boss room. All that being said, there is a very solid foundation here for a better future state or new game down the road. And for the cost it's hard to not say to at least give it a try.

Very cute and charming little game! I quite like the art style. The gameplay is simple but i think that works well for the smaller scope of this game. It gets straight to the point but I like that about it. It does sometimes get a little too simple for my liking. Most of the bosses only have 1 or two main attacks, sometimes a 2nd phase. I think for how small the game is it could've added a bit to their movesets. I really like the artstyle. All the bosses have cool and unique designs. Although some of them are sort of cliche. I feel like I've seen many a rat king before.
I did like how the janitor was the final boss. I am always one for the "ally turns to jealous enemy" final boss trope
. The difficulty curve did feel a bit strange, the final 3 bosses are much more difficult then any other boss. I guess in a game with only 7 bosses you have to nudge the difficulty somewhere but it felt more like a sudden hike than a natural progression. As for the audio, I think the sound design could use a little work. Many of the areas could use some extra ambient noises to really fill out the sound scape. And I have to be honest, I was not feeling the music too much. It is definitely servicable, but it doesn't really pop. I feel in a game all about boss fights you kinda want some bangers when you're going against them. But I understand on a small or zero budget, getting music can be a very difficult task. There are some quality of life things that could be improved. You can't skip the cutscenes on controller (to my knowledge at least) and maybe an option to skip the little run back on some of the earlier bosses might be nice. Also I found it a bit odd how the later bosses didn't have those little run ups. I guess it must've gotten annoying in playtesting after dying to them a lot so it got removed. I would prefer them to stay since I think they're cute but an option to skip them might be nice. Overall I think I'm yapping too much. This seems to me to be a smaller scale practice project and I vibe with that heavily. Everything here is very promising and I'm excited to see what you make going forward. I know I might have seemed a tad critical here but just know I only say it so you can make your next project even better! I hope to see more in the future.
оооочень классный дизайн и звуковое сопровождение, а также милейший котик. хоть боссфайты не слишком трудные и довольно быстрые, но увы око саурона у меня еще не открылось и я чрезвычайно часто дохну и скорее всего проблема именно во мне. BLACKCATINMYHEART
With a few updates this could be great little game, but, the last 3 bosses feel rushed. No train stop between them, you just spawn into their arenas. The rat boss's attack sometimes hits you and sometimes doesn't, and the dodge roll feels like it only works 80% of the time. Despite being low poly, the game has a lot of random frame drops and stutters. I wish there was a FPS option and an option to turn of the pixel filter. Also, I feel like Jinns spawning is still bugged.
Cute, challenging and at times quite infuriating. All hail the Rat King!
Second phase of final boss drove me absolutely crazy. Can't say I didn't get my moneys worth though. A fun yet frustrating challenge. Did have a glitch where my screen went black after some deaths forcing a restart. Other than that job well done on making this game.
Loved cat-souls. Super creative bosses and really hope for some future content.
As difficult as it is cute.
This is an easy recommend for anyone who loves supporting smaller devs and loves bossfights. It has creative takes, fun bosses, and cool visuals. However, it is by no means flawless and lacks in some departments. The audio feels stiff, sometimes mistimed, and is very silent. There's no epic boss music while you're slashing away, sadly. The runbacks can be quite tedious and don't add to the experience. Some boss rooms have a pre-room, which look very aesthetically pleasing and should've been the 'respawn' for the bosses. The weird thing is that for the last few bosses, no such room is present without explanation, which makes it feels a little incomplete. The boss designs are incredible though, combining specific themes while adding a certain comical flair to them. All the while, keeping the boss designs themselves tight and readable. For $3 (on sale), I'd say it's a fun time!
