Experience history with a twist: The perspectives of Gods, personalized virtues and vices are different from those of mere mortals in the spirit world we’ve built inspired by archetypal stories, western philosophy and core principles which the modern western society is built on: peace, democracy, rule of law, freedom, tolerance, pluralism - and we’ll let you discover the rest.
Discover the forging of Europe & the birth of the western ethos: Possess any mortal, be it a mere commoner or a great figure of history. Drive their actions and learn about their way of life, beliefs, fears and hopes, aspirations and ambition - and you may be surprised at what you uncover.
Assemble your troops & manage your resources: Gain influence with the living and inspire them to build the great edifices we know today. Gather the souls of defeated vices and use them to summon allies from among those fallen throughout the ages. Augment them with godly essences for they will be your shield against the forces that seek your undoing - and you will witness how the bitterest foes can become allies.
By your hand shall history be made: Be the invisible hand that forges Europe’s history as we know it: from the ancient times of Classical Greece, throughout the glory of the Roman Empire, the tumult of its fall, the chaos that followed and the bonds formed in the Middle Ages. Your journey through Europe will only end once it’s reborn - or will it?

The game is taking you through various ages describing the society as it is seen by regular people or key historical figures. A plus is the fact that you can posses all the characters and they are a lot! Almost for every key moment in the history explored in the game, there are a few perspectives presented through the eyes of the people with different backgrounds. For example, in Greece, you can talk with people on the market and hear about some rulers or battles, internal politics or customs. On the other side, if you can in a foreign, ”barbarian” tribe, they let you know how they see the others, Greek society and why they are not properly understood by the majority. The battle system is ingenious and encourage you to learn about some units from ancient times. I learnt about fighters, shamans, legionnaire, druids, hoplits, vikings, knights, berserkers etc. I am not sure about augments, how much they can help you to advance in the game. Also, in some cases you spend hours finding the solutions to some missions as specific ares will open only if you go with a particular character. It is not easy to go on the Classic mode where these battles are included and you can die a few times before you make the best strategy there. My favourite maps are the ones showing how Christianity evolved and what were the first habits of a new religion how the Romans ignored them for a while and how things were changed overtime. It is nice to have some intermediate savings and to come back from time to time to explore again some maps there.
4/10 Historical RPG+TBS TLDR: Walls-of-text onboarding hints at lack of playtesting. Empty dialogs with NPCs are probably due to bugs. Despite good intentions, the game simply isn't really playable. Good: - free (EU-funded since it's historical) - nice 2D UI graphics - some interesting historical info - interesting idea of switching between the spiritual world and the physical world, possessing humans and talking through them So-so: - okay-ish 3D graphics though the field of view of the camera is weird, and the objects which are closer to the camera get skewed too much. Also, the game is poorly optimized. "Auto-detect" button in the gfx options screen chooses "High" gfx quality for me, with that setting I can barely play. Even on the "Low" gfx level, it's laggy, though not as much. Maybe it's the post-processing blur effect doing this, as the lags are much worse in the blurry spirit world compared to the physical one - when you start the game, there is a weird dialog urging you to register on some website, otherwise you will lose some important opportunities or whatever. Were they making this app an obligatory part of curriculum at some educational institution? - walking is very slow Bad: - poor onboarding. The game wasn't playtested at all. In the first 5 minutes you simply get bombarded at each step by a fullscreen wall of text explaining the mechanics of the game. There is so much text in each of these pages that by the time you finish reading a page, you'd have already forgotten what it was about. Besides, since you can't practice in the game what was just explained, you will stop understanding anything at the 6th page or so. There are pre-recorded videos on those pages, but since you don't really know yet what they relate to, they are useless - confusing start, maybe also bug-ridden: you can only posses the 2 NPCs at the very start of the area and a bard in the middle of the village. And when you try to talk to other NPCs, almost all of them show empty dialogs (bug?) Most you can try to "cleanse" but then you face a much stronger army of spirits than yours. There is no way to quit those battles or see in advance what kind of armies you're going to face. All you can do is just quit to the main menu and lose the whole game. Btw also no way to hire new spirits for your army: when you click any of the unit categories, the lists of those available for recruitment are empty. Bug? The medieval atmosphere and graphics are very well done and you get to learn some history on the side! Being able to possess NPCs is pretty fun too. The only thing that took some getting used to was the combat system, but overall still a good game.
Very nice rurn-based strategy game :)
I enjoyed my playing time remembering various historical key moments and learning something more about the ages included in the game, from Ancient Greece to Renaissance. The fact that you can possess almost every character and you can interact with others makes the game special. I like Story Mode and I use it to go back to some maps. You need to properly focus on the main themes on each mission, sometimes you must discover the mission which can take you a while, immersing yourself into that atmosphere. Also, there are some funny moments included in the dialogues with characters.
