Spire Blast was originally an exclusive for Apple Arcade in 2021 and now that exclusivity period has ended it has been ported to Steam. It does have that mobile kind of feeling although I experienced no issues with it apart from frame rates were a bit high and my PC got a bit warm. Apart from that, it is very addictive and fun with achievements and controller support. There's loads of content for this game too so it will keep you occupied for a long time. The idea of the game is to collapse the tower by launching coloured projectiles. There's no randomness in where the cube will land, like in Angry Birds for example, you are in full control, and wherever you point is where the projectile will land. This brings about a lot of strategy because you can spin around the tower and choose where to strike, trying to weaken the structure or plan a few moves ahead to cause the blocks to tumble. You have a finite amount of attempts and a choice of two colours to launch. The colour of the projectile must match the colour of the block for it to disappear, and if the same coloured blocks are touching that block, then they will disappear too. Therefore, you can look around and see if there are any chains of blocks to take out. The game starts off very simple with not much challenge as it takes you through a bunch of tutorial levels introducing you to the mechanics, but then gradually more and more elements are added and it becomes a lot more tactical. For example, a dragon is introduced which flies around one side of the tower and you need to feed it so many blocks and collapse the tower to progress. This means you may sometimes have to fell the opposite side of the tower like a tree so that the blocks fall in the dragon's direction. There are also other goals you need to complete, as well as collapsing the tower, like destroying so many of a certain colour block. This becomes interesting because often the towers are small on purpose and then you are trying not to collapse lots of blocks because you then run out of the coloured blocks you need and the stage is failed. Game play never seems to stagnate as there are different elements being introduced all the time so even though the goal is usually always the same, the differences in approach keep the game feeling quite fresh and addictive. You acquire boosters as you progress which are special projectiles that can give you an edge when you are in trouble. There are boosters like rockets which cause serious damage, rubix cubes which destroy every colour on the tower of the block you hit, flames which burn a selection of blocks, and potions which turn a selection of blocks the same colour. You have a finite amount of these boosters but you will keep on picking them up as you progress. The game has a typical mobile feel to it with colourful environments and lots of bells and whistles with the sound, but I was very impressed with the mechanics of the game and the feeling of gravity and inertia when the blocks wobble and sway, and eventually topple into other blocks which sets them wobbling. I thought it looked very realistic and exactly how you would expect the blocks to behave. There are a few different areas with different backgrounds and mechanics to match and then there are special rounds which can bring about their own rewards. There is probably hundreds of hours of content here.
🍳Conclusion🍳

Spire Blast is a fun and addictive game which has been ported from Apple Arcade to Steam. Although it has that mobile phone kind of feel it is still addictive and fun and has all the bells and whistles you need to make game play feel exciting. There's so much content here that you will be playing for a very long time. The experience changes slightly with each round so that it never feels stagnated, and new mechanics, boosters, and goals to achieve are introduced to keep play fresh. If you enjoy casual games like Angry Birds I think you will enjoy this but I would also recommend this to strategy or puzzle enthusiasts because there is enough tactical thinking here for them to enjoy too. This game is crazy addictive, I just wanted to check it out for a bit and boom—hours gone. Super fun, really satisfying to play, and it just keeps throwing new challenges at you. For early access, it runs shockingly well, I haven’t seen a single bug. And there’s sooo many levels, I’ve been playing forever and still got tons left. Definitely worth it!!!11!
A surprisingly enjoyable and engaging game. I bought it because my wife wanted to play when she got home from work, but I started it myself and I think there will be two profiles fighting for points in the game this evening :D For this price, it's really worth it. I've played many games on early access and spire blast is in my top 10. I recommend trying it, you won't be disappointed!
Really fun and simple game, but it takes time to get all stars on some levels :)
Cool game for chill-out. Playable on Steam Deck!
Such a fun and relaxing game! I really like the light-hearted visuals and cheerful music, which create a very cozy atmosphere. The gameplay is simple yet engaging—matching and collapsing colorful blocks feels both satisfying and strategic. It's a great game to unwind after a long day at work, but it also offers enough challenge to keep things interesting. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy casual puzzle games!
Spinning Dragon Block Blast Attack!
Long-awaited ... finally, one of the best from Apple Arcade portfolio, but no need to pay a subscription to be able to play it! Even though colorful candy like visuals is not really my thing, for some reason I can't stop smashing these blocky structures. The physics here are very refined, it's very pleasant to watch these collapsing towers. If you don't believe me - JUST PLAY DEMO :) Also, despite Early Access, I have the impression that its very close to 1.0
A good game to use a few minutes of free time a day. Simple controls (I play on a pad) and the ease of resuming the game after a break encourage you to return to the title often in your free time. The game does not require complicated instructions or a long introduction to the plot. Watching a tower shake and then collapse after a few precise hits gives satisfaction. The game requires a well-thought-out strategy and precision, so it is a good option for a moment of not necessarily mindless relaxation.
Fun and immersive with cozy vibe, definitely recommended!
