Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
I love Spellforce especially the first one but this anniversary edition is literally unplayable. After countless crashes and errors when saving the game, today my whole character seems to be corrupted and I cant continue playing. Taking money for this buggy mess is disgusting.

mid game
Tentative Recommendation When I played the original Spellforce a few weeks ago, I made a prediction about the direction the sequels would take the original's unique RPG/RTS hybrid gameplay: "Smoother gameplay, more differentiated factions, but with more restrictive character building and some of the interesting quirks sanded off". After playing Spellforce 2's first campaign through to completion, I'm feeling pretty good about that prediction. In fact, most of the overall gameplay has been improved here, from visuals, to map design & quests, unit responsiveness & control, gameplay speed, and factions. The factions/races in particular deserve a more detailed mention, as the changes to them are no doubt something I can see being contentious. Yes, there are only three, compared to the original game's six. Yes, the Humans, Elves and Dwarves have been consolidated into a single faction, as have the Orcs and Trolls. Yes, a bunch of the old units are gone. But there are now much more noticable differences between the three, and the overall unit rosters are a lot more interesting as a result (though frankly still not quite interesting enough). That being said, what of the game's shortcomings? Well, those are for the most part they're the same as the original: the RPG portion of the game is lacking, the RTS factions have basically no tech to speak of, the story is mostly naff, the dialogue is hilariously bad, and some of the mission/map design is either dull or frustrating despite being overall improvement from the first game. A brand new shortcoming, on the other hand, is this game's approach to character building, which represents an unfortunate regression in that it replaces the original's more freeform stat allocation and spell scroll mechanics with a skill point system that not only lacks flavour but ends up being far, far too restrictive for its own good. This would be bad enough on its own, but Spellforce 2 is unfortunately much lighter on the RTS segments early on in its campaign compared to the original game, which leads to the first 10-15 of the game frequently feeling just as sluggish as the original's worst moments despite the overall snappier pace of gameplay. To conclude: Spellforce 2 is, for the most part, a step up from its predecessor -- it's just a shame that came at the cost of the original's more interesting character building. Let's see where the third game takes things from here. 6/10
