SpeedRunners 2 is a high-speed multiplayer platformer where rival superheroes face off in breakneck races using parkour, grappling hooks, and game-changing power-ups. Fall behind, and a shrinking ring of fire eliminates you – until only one runner remains.

Honestly one of the worst games I played, a true spit in the face of the fans. The original is so good and this is so bad, it really amazes me how clunky it feels and how bad the hitboxes of the obstacles are. For anyone new please go play the original, it holds so well I don't even know why they would make a new one. What a joke!
Game about speed with 3rd map being boss that moves so slowly there is no speed, level construction is not fun, art direction went to ♥♥♥♥, someone on dev team lost their mind, I'm refunding

Played this mostly on PS5, don't know why I bought it on steam as well: It's just a straight downgrade from the first game. It's less readable, it feels overall sloggy, the items aren't as rewarding (hook and ice beam got seriously nerfed), one of the new items is pretty OP (the ray gun thing with three shots), the maps are the same, the new ones are very meh... Yeah, don't see why I should be playing this over the original.
they got rid of the deer furry from the first game this is unforgivable
This game is not only worse than the first one, but is also so much behind on content. I played the demo couple months ago a lot, it has not changed much from the demo. I'm still playing speedunners1. I won't type out everything i don't like about it, there are many reviews that explain it well. But one thing i found interesting is they buffed grapple cancel wall climb, drastically. So much so there's no point in normally jumping between 2 walls to climb. It looks and feels bad to play like that. In first game it was a gimmick you used for slight advantage in certain situations.
i think that this game could have been great. but its not. its buggy its clunky and why am i so slow?? it doesnt feel like speedrunners and the new style doesn't add to speedrunners it js feels like a cheap knock off that doesnt deserve the great name of speedrunners. #boycott this game bro js update the old one or maybe get rid of all the new ♥♥♥♥ effects.
Having played the original SpeedRunners 1 for a while, I felt a need to write a review for this one, especially because a lot of the negative reviews can be just a bunch of nothing burgers coming from old, elitist players. However, Speedrunners 2 feels more like a remake of the original rather than a sequel because it doesn't offer many new things aside from problems of it's own. The biggest two being the a slight input delay (that you can totally get used to, but not ideal for a platformer game that demands precision) and visual clutter that makes reading the screen very difficult, brought by the new 3D's visuals. The visuals by the way, all look really good in a vacuum, but all together in motion during gameplay turn into a colorful mush of things, where it gets hard to keep track of what is happening. It wasn't only once where I lost track of where my character was supposed to be, which is a huge issue. And unfortunately, changing the graphics quality doesn't improve that, and in fact, looks like it barely changes anything at all between Low, Medium and High options. Still, at it's core is still Speedrunners, an amazingly fun, fast paced and competitive game. I managed to get some enjoyment from the few online matches I had which is why I'm leaving a positive review. But I can't deny the issues, paired with my PC's generally modest specs were enough for me to request a refund at the end.
I've played my fair share of SpeedRunners 1 over the years, and through all the SR2 playtests. This game is excellent, it could use some bug fixes, some more maps down the line and some more improvement to readability. Oh and the gun needs a nerf. But overall the game looks and feels great I've had some killer matches already, it's so much fun. The bad reviews are absolutely wild, they're mad the game only feels *98%* the same as SR1 instead of *100%*. Don't listen to them. This game is dirt cheap too, if it looks interesting to you pick it up!
Kinda sad to say this but just play the first game...
Somehow the original plays a bit smoother than this. Would recommend that one instead of this.
