Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is an overlooked gem and it's insanely hard.

Gameplay: Horrible. No tutorial or explanations provided about what should be basic concepts - i.e. floors that change colors. Constants deaths and no checkpoints coupled with boring gameplay add for infuriating yet unrewarding gameplay. Graphics: exactly as per the images provided on the store page. Colorful, minimalistic, and over the top. Music: decent, I suppose fits the psychodelic gameplay/graphics of the game. Rating: 4/10 based off the base price. I know is only 3$ but that is still too much given the simplistic gameplay, and the crappy gameplay. Should wait for a sale or coupon but I still would not recommend even then.

Spaceman Sparkles 2 is a fast-paced top-down arcade shooter developed and published by tjern, built around intense bullet-dodging action wrapped in a colorful, disco-inspired sci-fi setting. It embraces chaos unapologetically, throwing players into a neon-drenched universe filled with glowing projectiles, surreal enemies, and pounding electronic music. Rather than presenting a traditional space opera narrative, the game leans into absurdity and style, casting you as Sparkles—a flamboyant cosmic hero determined to reclaim his stolen throne by collecting legendary glowsticks scattered across dangerous levels. At its core, Spaceman Sparkles 2 is a bullet-hell experience that demands sharp reflexes and pattern recognition. Enemies flood the screen with waves of projectiles, forcing players to weave carefully between attacks while maintaining offensive pressure. The controls are simple and responsive, making movement feel fluid even as chaos intensifies. Teleportation mechanics add mobility options beyond basic dodging, allowing players to reposition instantly to escape tight bullet clusters. This emphasis on agility gives combat a dynamic rhythm, where survival depends on constant motion rather than defensive stalling. The arsenal available to Sparkles adds variety to encounters. Alongside the primary rave gun, players gain access to alternative weapons and abilities that change how they approach different enemy types. Some tools favor direct firepower, while others provide situational advantages against specific boss patterns. The game’s bosses stand out as highlights, featuring distinct attack sequences that test both endurance and adaptability. Each boss encounter feels like a culmination of the skills developed through prior levels, encouraging players to learn patterns and refine their timing. Collectibles and optional objectives give structure to the frenetic action. Scattered throughout stages are legendary glowsticks and other hidden items that reward exploration. These additions create incentives beyond mere survival, encouraging players to take calculated risks in more dangerous sections of a map. While the gameplay loop remains consistent—dodge, shoot, collect—the pursuit of full completion adds replay value and invites mastery of increasingly challenging stages. Visually, the game embraces a pixel-art aesthetic saturated with bright colors and flashing effects. The design captures a retro arcade vibe while infusing it with an almost rave-like energy. Despite the visual intensity, the art direction maintains enough clarity to keep gameplay readable, which is crucial in a bullet-heavy shooter. The soundtrack plays a significant role in shaping the experience. Upbeat electronic tracks drive the pacing, and the rhythm of the music often feels synchronized with the movement and intensity of combat. This synergy between audio and gameplay reinforces the game’s identity as both a shooter and a rhythmic spectacle. While Spaceman Sparkles 2 thrives on its kinetic energy, it is not without limitations. The difficulty curve can feel steep, especially for players unfamiliar with bullet-hell conventions. The sheer density of projectiles and enemy patterns may overwhelm newcomers. Additionally, the retro presentation, though charming, lacks the polish and refinement of larger-scale productions. However, these aspects are part of its indie character. The game does not attempt cinematic storytelling or expansive world-building; it focuses entirely on delivering concentrated bursts of arcade-style action. Ultimately, Spaceman Sparkles 2 is a niche but spirited entry in the bullet-hell genre. Its strengths lie in its responsive controls, creative boss design, vibrant aesthetic, and energetic soundtrack. Its weaknesses stem from occasional visual chaos and a demanding difficulty level that may limit broader appeal. For players who enjoy high-intensity shooters with personality and are willing to embrace a challenge, it offers a lively, neon-soaked ride that rewards persistence and precision. Rating: 6/10
