Very cool game, progressing is fun, I like the art style and it's pretty funny. I just wish we had voices.
amazing game
Excellent game that I still think about. Perfect balance of risk/reward and perma death. Art style is absolutely also perfect.
yes
Has some nifty ideas and concepts, though the game is very basic at the end of the day. Once you've done a few days in game you've basically seen all the game has to offer as far as gameplay goes; you get 8 hours every day to do what you want, which are usually spent traveling from one hub to the next. You'll be balancing keeping your health, hunger, and hope up while leveling up your equipment, stations, and rising in the ranks of your chosen gang. I'll get the negative out of the way first. Inventory management has some really neat ideas, namely the contraband system where items with a yellow background are confiscated if you're caught with them in your inventory. You can hide a few items in secret pockets, but the rest will be seen by guards and sensors. This is fine, the only trouble is the storage you do get in the game is woefully inadequate. Your main storage in your cell doesn't offer you much room to keep items, even in the mid game you will find yourself running out of space to keep your stuff and a lot of resource based quests are time sensitive, so you end up hording everything without many uses for them. You can make secret stashes in certain facilities, but even these can only hold 4 items at a time and you still have to deal with sensors and guards for the contraband issue. I feel it would've been better if items were more precious in the game, my inventory and storage is overflowing with stuff and I have no real way of getting rid of the useless stuff anymore. The rest of the game is pretty easy and straight forward. The only enemies that really give me any trouble are the guards who have powerful attacks that bypass your armor and have a good chance to stun you, and even if they don't stun they block a random skill from being used for at least 1 turn. Other than that every fight has been really one sided and easy, I rarely even have to heal my character. The part of the game I enjoy the most by far is earning the loyalty of fellow gang members and rising up the ranks. Each gang member requires you to complete their quest chain, some need you to complete an investigation into the corruption of the prison, others need your help getting them a job in the prison, etc. None of them are particularly deep, but it's the fun of seeing them grow comfortable with you and getting them as permanent party members as you go that's so rewarding. Beating a higher ranked gang member in a fight earns you their spot and they're knocked down to your previous rank. The idea is to become the boss of your gang and take over the prison. The most unique part of the game imo is how "respawning" works. Every prisoner is equipped with a collar that captures their consciousness when they die, and are placed onto a new body when the old one dies. So narratively, you can't just get killed to escape your sentence, you'll just be placed in a new body. My character died after having to fight three guards in a row, and I was placed in a new alien body and I had to get all my old stuff from the morgue. It's neat, though not thoroughly explored in game. Overall this is a solid 7/10 for me. It's surprisingly chill for the setting it has and you have a lot of control over your life in the game, but I'm enjoying what's here. I'd get it on sale or at least try the demo to see if you like it. You don't get to explore the gang life in the demo, but you get the gist of the gameplay.
Great Game, there are a few QOL changes I would have liked such as a repair all companions armor, clearer highlights in the personal cell and ways to earn money easier than just selling carcasses but overall an enjoyable game. Roughly 30+ hours to 100%
Notbad game with a good humor. One of the minuses: no one notices when I drop the soap :(
