Highly recommend for anyone with fond memories of classic Warhammer Fantasy.

I like this game. Gives me Warhammer Fantasy wipes.
Back in the good ol days before the newfangled interwebs, there was White Dwarf magazine. The best part of which was the battle reports. Pictures of fully painted studio armies duking it out with a 2D graphical image of each turn, who killed what, who moved where, charges etc... It was great. Imagine that 2D image as a playable game and you have Sovl or Soul (without the classic Roman lettering). If you are a fan of bare bones tabletop "rank and flank" fantasy wargaming you'll really enjoy this. I'd say its closer to kings of war over classic fantasy warhammer in playstyle. It has its own ruleset and could be played with tabletop minis. The big key is alternating activations, which is better IMHO than the full turn followed by full turn of its table top inspirations. The campaign is a roguelike map with battles, random encounters, and rest and purchase hubs. Its not perfect, it is quite a grind to unlock additional items. Units aren't hard to do but the challenges needing individual completion for every hero to unlock alternate potraits is laborious to say the least. I'm not sure I could be bothered. There are a lot of new armies but still only one campaign. More campaign content would be great. Still it's a great rank and flank simulator, the artwork is mostly good and proper old school fantasy style. Which an aging grognard like me really appreciates. Buy it and play it - you won't regret it.
The perfect transfer of the tabletop game to a digital one, 10/10
Great for any fan of Tabletop games! The base game is free so give it a try.
