About
Sound Horizons is a minimalist yet challenging rhythm game where you make one with music. Its generative soundtrack changes along your progression and reshape the world as you play. The melodies are always random, your only option to adapt is by getting in the rhythm. Succeeds enough, and you might see the end of your journey.
Intuitive controls with four buttons, offering a quick learning curve so that you can test your rhythm skills
Interactive music: every button press adds new notes to the melody
A Procedural landscape that moves to the beat, for a true synesthetic experience
An Adaptive difficulty ensures that the challenge is always aligned to your skill, so that you can progress at your own pace
Additional modes for more challenges and immersive musical experiences
Sound Horizons contains 2 levels as of today. I might work on new ones in the future, if there is demand for it.

i recommand this game if u wish to snap your keyboard in half
This is gonna be my favorite rhythm game I can tell. The way you're just repeating what you hear moments later, it makes it such a zoning out call and response. I love it!

Overall, it's a pleasant experience if you're good at rhythm games like this! Despite all what I said badly about the game, I don't think I've given it enough time to play and get used to, I still think it's a fun experience for most and it's worth at least trying. Remember to adjust the settings to your preferences! I'm currently looking for examples of procedural audio in games. This game does it pretty okay, though the sound balance by default isn't good for me and after adjusting the audio to my preferences, it made it less difficult. The game's style looks amazing how the mountains develop into a night sky and such, one of my favourite styles in backgrounds is this minimal theme this game has, it looks really nice and honestly I'd love to have it as my wallpaper haha. I love the idea of the game, the concept and execution of it came out really well, the gameplay feels good and it's exactly as I was expecting from what the steampage advertised. The controller integration is great, the pause menu is probably the best I've seen for a rhythm game at how it doesn't stop the music entirely. What was difficult to enjoy however is how punishing this was for missing a note off by 1 or 2 frames! I think the game gives some form of give with how the UI has a fade, but when you hit that black circle level in stage 1; holy moly you only have a shield and then the moment you lose again you instantly have to reset to the next level from the beginning of the stage prior. It's just simply too punishing imo at those stages. It's hard to gauge the speed at which notes come due to the perspective, it took a good 15 minutes to get used to that, but that black circle piano part was just insufferably difficult I had to stop playing, I kept going back and forth from that black circle stage and the one prior for 10 minutes, which honestly became so frustrating. I am aware of the menu options which remove this, but I like this form of punishment in these kind of games, I just don't like how punishing it is in some stages. I know it's a "skill issue" in this sense, but, genuinely for a starter level to someone being introduced to a rhythm game, it's way too punishing with no way to quickly recover without having to risk dropping even more down. There's also no visual indicator of BPM, it's hard to tell what the BPM is due to how much delay is on the envelopes of the instruments, so it makes it harder to get an internal metronome.
