A Procedural landscape that moves to the beat, for a true synesthetic experience
An Adaptive difficulty ensures that the challenge is always aligned to your skill, so that you can progress at your own pace
Additional modes for more challenges and immersive musical experiences
Sound Horizons contains 2 levels as of today. I might work on new ones in the future, if there is demand for it.

First one! Let's start with what struck me first, I don't understand what's so unique about the melodies, these are just simple and more or less average melodies and i would say the music always changes a little as i progress, but reacts to my actions? i don't think is quite an accurate definition of it. "Interactive music: every button press adds new notes to the melody" Somehow that wasn't the case for me, is it because I don't have an Xbox controller? At least there was a hint that it might not work quite the same with my PS 4 controller, in my opinion a valid question, why? It says that a gamepad is recommended which is fine, but then it doesn't work properly because I have one that you don't want to support? Next legitimate question, why do I even need a controller for a game like this? And I don't know if it's also because of my controller and that's not an excuse of me, I know when I hit the beat and when I don't and I'm able to admit when I mess up, but quite a few times although beeing on point it made me fail In a strange way. Sometimes I also had the feeling depending on the section/scene, that you have to press a little earlier or slightly later than before, it is weird. (But I'll check it again) Apart from that, I think so far the game is quite okay and I can well imagine that players who like rhythm games will definitely give this one a try, but I don't want to predict whether they'll stick with it or not. I kinda liked those little animations when a scene changes, sufficient like it is for a minimalist game. The style of music is nothing extraordinary, mood is good, but otherwise it's a bit undemanding, sparse, plain kinda artless and somehow it lacks soul. An for my taste the level of the drums are far too low, they feel repressed into the background. I have a hunch and I can somewhat understand why it was done that way, perhaps the drums shouldn't dominate too much, but the ratio is simply not as harmonious and balanced as it could or should be. And to stay in rhythm, there's nothing better than drums with an audible groove.
I'm currently doing a challenge to play through a free game in every single category on steam. I then give an honest review using ChatGPT.
Game: 24 / 447 Category: Music-Based Procedural Generation Sound Horizons: A Missed Beat Sound Horizons tries to blend music with procedural generation, but unfortunately, it misses the mark. The controls are awkward and hard to get the hang of, and having notes come at you from the center of a circle is more confusing than fun. When playing, you hear both a note from the game and the note you’re supposed to hit, making the experience feel more like Simon Says than a rhythm game. The problem is, these notes don’t sync up well at all, and the sound clash just doesn’t work. There’s not much depth to the game, either. It feels repetitive and lacking in content, leaving you with little reason to keep playing after the initial curiosity fades. A cool idea, but poorly executed.
