Only about 5 hours in, yet, want to share my wonderful experience. An intriguing story, futuristic and detailed visuals, smooth gameplay, good dialogs - I'm enjoying it immensely. Playing as a robot detective, I talk to a lot of other bots - not all are in place right away, the more you uncover, the more others you will meet and be able to interact with. Not all locations are free to walk to in the beginning either... but the game gives you all, you need. Step by step you find out more. You mostly walk around, moving with the mouse, perspective is via WASD - very easily done. Even controller lovers will like this. Don't miss this game, highly recommended !
The save system is very strange. It's very rare that you see a floppydisk icon of autosave. When you leave you'll always lose big chunk of progress. The controls are very uncomfortable, really got tired of rotating and zooming camera. The scanner system that you need to always press Ctrl to see interactable stuff is redundant and boring. Why cannot I just see the interactable icons or just highlight them?
One of the most bafflingly obtuse games I've ever played. Every quest, every item, every NPC leads to another dead end. There is no rhythm or rhyme to progression. Frustrating at every turn and every time I think I've made some kind of breakthrough I'm rewarded with nothing. Do not recommend under any circumstances, huge waste of time.
An amazing adventure game by the devs of Encodya about a futuristic world where robots live in the vestiges of a long gone humanity. I love stories with robots, detective games, puzzles and exploration games, and this was the perfect game to scratch all those itches. The games plot made me think of Primordia and The Talos Principle. We play as Unit-12, a droid-detective just born and tasked to continue the investigation of his predecessor who mysteriously disappeared. This prologue is the first part of his journey where we will explore the city of Sapporo looking for the whereabouts of a mysterious monk. If you like to snoop, it is the perfect game for you. The open game world offers lots to discover. Talk to everyone, look at everything, help/fix other robots if you want, make friends or not, have some silicon sushis... There will be choices to make. How and if they will affect the next chapters I do not know, but this prologue tells a complete story on its own. I really enjoyed this game and can only recommend it. Note: you can quicksave the game at any time by pressing the F5 key
Finished Soul Tolerance: Prologue and I liked it. Strangely enough, I had just finished a novel where robots ruled the world and humans were no more. And the robots, who were built by humans, seem to be falling into the same traps and failings that their makers did. How very sad in a way. I liked the story very much and the beautifully dreary city of Sapporo. There is one save slot and you can save to it any time. Gameplay for the most part was fun. It is very story heavy with fetch quests and exploration of a nice sized city. However, you’re playing along and then suddenly you have timed puzzles to solve! They aren’t terribly difficult but would be a lot easier with out a big timer counting down in front of your face while trying to solve them! Got the slider and wire connections puzzles on the second tries, but there was a copy the figure puzzle that suddenly switched views that drove me a little crazy, but eventually I got it. A skip for people that don’t solve well under a ticking timer would have been a nice addition. The last part of the game had a fetch quest that entailed combing the city map again and I found it a bit tedious. There is fast travel to major quest locations but that doesn’t help for a lot of the goals. In the end, I liked this game, especially for the story aspect. The timed puzzles and need to comb the city repeatedly to accomplish goals were the biggest drawbacks. I’m happy to have played and would look forward to a next game if there is one. The game doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, but the main mystery/goal remains unsolved. I recommend the game to those that like games with a good story and can handle the other aspects that come with it.
Pros - Nice art-style and lighting - Great world building - Interesting story, kept me playing. - Engaging point and click game-play, pick up items, talk to characters, use items etc. some mini-games. - Interesting characters and dialog, very immersive. - Good UI - Fast travel Cons - If you double click on a new spot while your character is running they will frequently just stop running and you have to double click again. - Sometimes your character would just run into things, pathing wasn't the best at times. - Ends without the main plot getting resolved. Apparently its Only part one of a planned series but there is no guarantee of that happening of course. - Some minor bugs with the journal pages merging together. - Also a bug with the map in that the on screen close button doesn't work, however you can press m on the keyboard to close it either. -There is on screen buttons for almost every aspect except the scanner which is probably the most common thing you use. - There is an occasional auto-save but its not used as often as it probably could. Overall very enjoyable, hopefully we will get to see the conclusion of the story at some point.
3/10 walk around a small city and talk to everybody + looks top quality for a voxel game - mostly a walking sim - the most basic puzzles - puzzle is broken - not much content here at all https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3592114905
Good looking. Boring non-sense dialogues. Difficult puzzles.
