About
Create a coven of witches, defeat the great Blight and harvest its soul. Soul Cauldron is a Min-Maxing dungeon runner set in a dying world, where covens of powerful witches vie for power as everything around them is slowly consumed by the enigmatic Blight.
Min-Maxing Challenge: Different builds for every occasion
Unlike traditional RPG-s where you build your character in a certain way throughout the playthrough, in Soul Cauldron each dungeon will have highly different challenges that no single build will be good against. The build that you used to easily run the previous Dungeon will have you killed on arrival in the next one.
Instead, you completely reequip your character with items and spells that suit the specific challenge.
Divine your future to survive
Since you need to equip for each new challenge, knowing what to expect is the difference between life or death. Your witches will painstakingly divine information about dungeons to reveal enemy strengths, weaknesses, notable items, and how will breaching the dungeon further empower the Blight. Powerful witches can even unlock powerful bonus effects to help you survive the dungeon.

Decisions, Decisions
Maybe you divine the presence of the recipe for a potion of Celestial Mending in a pit full of Fire Demons. Will you risk entering when you're missing a good fire resistant armor? You could use that potion to survive the venom attacks of the creatures in the Dark Bog. If you could survive that Bog, its guardian holds the Astral Spellblade you need to complete your Fiend slaying item set.
How many souls can you collect to fuel your cauldron?
On the battered continent of Ique, the only true currency is souls. Venture out into the wilderness, fight monsters, craft spells, brew potions and utilize almost infinite combos from six schools of magic to build your coven!
Collect your Sisters, slay the avatar of the Blight and claim it's soul so you may found the greatest coven to ever exist!
Fight your way through dungeons, swamps and ruins infested by pirate gangs, cults, demons, undead, arcane entities and other horrors; and harvest their souls to increase your power.
Discover recipes for powerful spells, potions and runes to craft.
Semi-procedural itemization will give you unending tools and combinations to accomplish your goal, but beware: you will face greater and more powerful enemies along the way!
Use your powers of divination to gather information on dungeons before you enter, and outfit your witch with great care so she may have a chance at survival.
Find your lost sisters and save them from the clutches of the enemy so they can join your cause!
Use over 500 unique, craftable spells and elevate your coven over all others.

Reviews
A top down twin stick RPG with elements and base management. This game feels like it was incredibly rushed and unpolished. The tutorial tell you everything but teaches you nothing about the mechanics of the game. It throws it all at you after a short story beat before you even play the game while the player knows nothing about what is going on. A slower and more drawn out tutorial over multiple runs would have been better with the current one being a toggleable overlay to have when needed. The generation of the maps feels sporadic and thrown together, like there wasn't much thought put into the random generator. The assets are mixed with different art styles for everything from the background and level assets, enemies, spell effects and to the art making it all feel out of place. The obvious use of AI exacerbates this problem. Everything feels weightless. There is not feedback from ANYTHING, lacking both proper audio and visual elements. There is no indication from landing hits or being hit besides the damage indicator or the loss of health respectively. Traps just show up at your feet. At first being confused if it was dangerous or not until I stood in it to test it. The controls are just strait up unreasonable. With 1-6 being for items, Q,E,R,T,F,G,H,J to cast your spells and WASD for movement with no way to rebind them. While you can use scroll wheel and right click to manually select your spells it seems to cumbersome to use in practise. I only played for 0.4 hours so I cant comment on the long term progression and it could be the best ever created but it couldn't justify everything else wrong with the game. At 40% off it is probably not worth the price, let alone at full price.
great game hidden gem 6 years off work it s diablo game with loot 300 mixed spells great game must have
Soul Cauldron is a dark fantasy roguelite RPG developed by Ákos Hornung and published by Harmony Lab that places strategic planning at the center of its design. While many role-playing games reward players for creating a single powerful character and refining that build throughout the entire adventure, Soul Cauldron takes a different approach. It constantly encourages adaptation, experimentation, and preparation, transforming every expedition into a tactical challenge where understanding the enemy is often just as important as possessing powerful equipment. This philosophy gives the game a unique identity within the crowded dungeon-crawling genre. The story unfolds in the troubled realm of Ique, a land threatened by a mysterious corruption known as the Blight. As darkness spreads across the world, powerful covens compete for influence and survival while seeking the strength necessary to confront the source of the catastrophe. Players assume command of their own coven of witches, gathering souls, exploring dangerous territories, and gradually building enough power to challenge the forces responsible for the world's decline. Although the narrative primarily serves as a backdrop for the gameplay systems, it provides a compelling framework that reinforces the game's themes of survival, ambition, and magical mastery. What immediately distinguishes Soul Cauldron from many comparable RPGs is its emphasis on flexibility. Instead of encouraging players to commit permanently to a specific class or specialization, the game expects them to regularly rebuild their characters. Different dungeons contain different dangers, enemy types, and environmental conditions, making adaptability a crucial skill. A build that performs exceptionally well against one faction may struggle completely against another. As a result, success often depends on carefully analyzing each challenge and constructing a party specifically designed to overcome it. The preparation phase before entering a dungeon is one of the game's most satisfying features. Through a divination system, players can gather information about upcoming encounters, enemy weaknesses, valuable treasures, and potential hazards. This intelligence allows for meaningful planning and transforms preparation into an engaging strategic layer rather than a simple menu screen. The more information players possess, the better equipped they become to create specialized builds capable of exploiting enemy vulnerabilities. This system rewards thoughtful decision-making and gives every expedition a sense of purpose. Character customization is remarkably extensive. The game features hundreds of spells distributed across multiple schools of magic, offering an enormous range of possibilities for experimentation. Players can combine offensive abilities, defensive techniques, support magic, and specialized effects to create highly personalized witches. The sheer variety of available options ensures that builds rarely feel repetitive. Discovering effective combinations and uncovering powerful synergies becomes one of the most rewarding aspects of progression. Equipment plays an equally important role in shaping a character's effectiveness. Weapons, magical artifacts, armor pieces, runes, and consumable items all contribute to performance in meaningful ways. Because enemy factions vary so dramatically, selecting the right gear often becomes a strategic decision rather than a simple matter of choosing items with the highest numerical values. A carefully assembled loadout can dramatically improve the chances of success, reinforcing the game's focus on preparation and intelligent planning. Crafting further expands the possibilities available to players. Throughout their journey, witches discover recipes for new spells, runes, and potions that can be crafted for future expeditions. This system creates a strong sense of progression because every discovery potentially unlocks new strategies. Rather than simply increasing power levels, crafting broadens the range of available solutions, encouraging continued experimentation and allowing players to refine their preferred playstyles. Dungeon exploration remains engaging thanks to the game's roguelite structure and semi-randomized rewards. Valuable loot, rare equipment, and powerful upgrades are scattered throughout dangerous locations, creating a constant balance between risk and reward. Players are frequently tempted to venture deeper into hostile territory in search of valuable treasures, knowing that greater rewards often come with increased danger. This tension keeps exploration exciting and ensures that every decision carries weight. Visually, Soul Cauldron embraces a classic top-down presentation that prioritizes clarity and functionality. Dark forests, ruined structures, corrupted landscapes, and monster-infested territories establish a strong fantasy atmosphere without distracting from the gameplay. The art direction effectively supports the setting, creating a world that feels appropriately grim and mysterious while remaining easy to navigate during combat and exploration. The game's greatest achievement is how successfully it integrates all of its systems around a single idea: knowledge is power. Gathering information, preparing specialized builds, selecting appropriate equipment, and understanding enemy weaknesses are all essential components of success. Victory rarely comes from brute force alone. Instead, it is earned through careful planning and intelligent adaptation. This creates a rewarding gameplay loop that consistently challenges players to think strategically rather than relying on repetitive tactics. Soul Cauldron is ultimately a rewarding experience for players who enjoy deep customization, extensive theorycrafting, and meaningful strategic choices. Its emphasis on preparation, massive collection of spells, flexible character development, and satisfying progression systems create a dungeon-crawling adventure that feels distinct from many of its contemporaries. While its complexity may require patience from newcomers, those willing to engage with its systems will discover a rich and highly customizable RPG filled with opportunities for experimentation and mastery.
