This is a decent mining game, in a similar vein to SteamWorld Dig, although it feels overall less polished. There's a decent amount of content, the music is relaxing and it has a good mix of enemies. There are 4 worlds, and on each there are 10 puzzles hidden within the depths, which get difficult pretty quickly. Death can feel very unfair; enemies rolling into you from offscreen, or falling on your head, or being able to pass straight through the blocks. The whole 'ransom' thing ('story') is totally dispensable. You could easily have the game be about collecting resources and needing a certain amount, without the 'evil AI' holding the mining ship hostage, which doesn't make much sense. - It's a bit frustrating that every time you mess up, or you make a wrong move in the puzzle rooms, you have to start the whole thing from scratch. - Switching between mining and shooting is a bit fiddly - Good music, although there's only one track per world about 20 seconds long - I never went below 80% oxygen; I'm not really sure what the point of it was
It's a nice little shooter puzzle game. It combines all my favorite elements of a game without being too much. It's not a long game, but it doesn't try to stretch it to make it longer like some games do that makes it not as fun. I like to sit and relax after work with the game. The puzzles are the right amount of difficult with some harder and some easier.

In this video I take a look at Something Ate My Alien, a self proclaimed 2D puzzle and dig'em up adventure game. Something Ate My Alien is like a cross between Boulderdash, Terraria, and space invaders. Your mining vessel full of gem finding aliens has been hijacked and unless you use your aliens to find the items your captor wants you wont be sent on your way. One alien at time you get to explore and dig below the surface of the planets making sure not to run out of oxygen or get killed by one of the aggressive natives. You need to be careful not to get yourself stuck aswell. There are also upgrades in armour, weapons, mining equipment, and more. It's a well made and fun game providing an enjoyable casual experience. End game was a little hard. 8/10. Would rage again.
