Snow Fortress

Ive not played a great deal yet, but I havent found a Vive game that made me laugh or sweat quite as much as this. Well worth parting with 10 shiny dollars for. The mechanics are quite simple and it's very much WYSIWYG. But in its simplicity hides a legitimate fear of being smacked in the head by a ball of ice. The styling is lovely and the feel of throwing snowballs and manipulating the blocks to create forts is spot on. Some balancing probably required (v0.503 played) as it's quite difficult straight off the bat. Look forward to seeing where the developers take it.

Overall a really good game, lots of fun. It runs smoothly, takes advantage of VR, the throw mechanic feels really natural. I highly recommend you to try it. However, I do have some issues/proposals: [list] [*] The game ramps up in difficulty really fast. It took me 4 attempts to beat Level 3, the AI's aim is just too good too early on. Survival mode felt better, it allowed for more time to get used to the mechanics before it got harder. [*] Setting up your snowfort at the beginning of each level can be tedious. I'd like to be able to save templates and just load those, or at least reset the snowfort to your previous one for each level when you fail. [*] I wouldn't recommend this game if you have a standing-only placespace. Mine is rather small (1.6x2.2m) and the blocks to build the fort were at the edge of it. At one point I had to pull a lever that was placed outside my chaperone bounds by default. [*] So far, the game is lacking music. While it's appropriate if you want to simulate a snowfight, I feel like the game would benefit from quiet music in the background. [/list]

Great VR game for kids, surprising amount of content for the cost. Adults will have some fun too, but my recommendation is for kids.

This is one of my favorite games on the Vive. It uses Room Scale perfectly and is quite exciting. Dodging snowballs and such is a blast. Hiding and firing around obstacles makes me REALLY want a paintball game.

(簡中) 更好推坑 雖然英文介面也不難就是 -價格不貴 CP高 缺點: -雪的物理上偏向卡通 稍微沒那麼真實 不過增加好玩度犧牲點真實其實是蠻OK的 -目前似乎只支援1v1 期待更多人對戰的加入 -萬惡的early access (不是說這商業模式不好只是就是太多遊戲都這樣搞...而且個人經驗上通常很雷..) -目前連線機制還不太穩定 不好配對到 期望更解決 討論區作者有說未來期望會類似 皇室戰爭 那樣 雙方競賽把對方主堡打掉落城的概念 相信更多元素!

great game was wanting a game just like this. Love survival mode.

ガチ過ぎる雪ダルマとガチンコ雪合戦！ 砦にちょっとだけ隙間を開けてスリングショットし放題だぜー とかやってたらその隙間から投げ込まれて雪まみれにされたり 壁があるから平気だろうと立って雪球投げてたら 放物線で飛んできた弾が頭に直撃して雪まみれにされたりして物凄く悔しい 本気で雪ダルマにやり返したくなる素敵なゲーム あと砦の氷ブロックを詰む音と感触がクセになる カッコイイ砦を作ってる余裕はないけれど…

Snow Fortress was one of my first VR experiences. And one of the first times I found myself hiding behind a wall of snow & ice to avoid getting nailed by a snowball in a non-existant wonderland. VR is still absolutely astonishing to me, and this game encapsulates a wide variety of the beauty of virtual experiences. A+

Came into this one via a bundle, so didn't know what to expect... but this game is actually a pretty slick! Each round begins by you building a fort using provided blocks. Then, pull the lever to let the action begin! Throw snowballs at your opponents, hiding behind their fort, before they can hit you, hiding behind yours. Cool to build your own fort, then live with your design, good or bad. I'm bad at throwing, so it takes forever to hit my opponents. My arms started getting tired - dare I say there's a little workout built in? The sling shot is sooo helpful! It appears to have multiplayer, but nobody else was online, so can't verify that it works. Single player was good enough though, I had fun! In my opinion, it's not worth the full $15 being asked, but if you pick it up when it goes on sale, you won't be dissapointed. Thumbs: UP!
