Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer

Duke Nukem 3D but instead it's an edgy teenager from the early 2000's that made it and featured himself in it. It's really funny and has some pretty good gameplay too. The joke isn't the poo-related content, it's why they're in there: the parody of the angsty millennial teenager is so damn good.

Game is fine. I think there are much better retro shooters you could play instead. But if you've exhausted your backlog, get this one on sale.

If you have fondness for trashy late '90s FPSes like Postal, you will like Slayers X. The good: Love it or hate it, they've nailed the edgelord aesthetic here. It's unapologetically fugly, but fun. Authentic boomer-shooter controls, for better or worse - but mostly better. Difficulty levels. I played it on easy and finished it in 6 hours, perfect for this kind of game. Not just mindless shooting. You've got to do a fair amount of exploration to progress through each level. The meh: The secrets in each level are often ridiculously difficult to discover. Better head to YouTube playthroughs if you're a completionist. Some of the platforming is a bit rage-inducing. The repetitive catch-phrases are spot-on for the aesthetic, but honestly do get annoying after awhile. The verdict: I got this in a bundle for almost nothing and had a very good time with it. Is it worth full price? Debatable, but if it goes below $10 and you're a fan of boomer-shooters, absolutely check it out.

[h2]如果哪天我有机会做出了这样的大粪游戏，我他妈要卖你们5美刀。[/h2] Slayers X作为一部复古射击游戏来讲，它的表现可圈可点： 射击手感尚可、突出的金属美术风格（音乐也不错！）、充斥着层层玄机的地图设计、还有随处可见的下三路烂梗（如果你觉得这样很好的话）…… 不过最给我好感的是游戏作者或者说是团队在游戏之中所传达出来的真挚，游戏开出动画谈到自己十六岁制作游戏的经历，如今得以兑现。虽然从彩蛋关卡中得知大概迫于出版压力使得游戏没有完整出道，让人倍感唏嘘。不过这种虚实之间和作者对话的机会着实难能可贵。 尽管知道这个游戏落地的不易，但是做的不好的地方也不少： 首当其冲的就是这个沟槽的跳跳乐环节，我觉得这是游玩过程中最恶心的一环，尽管关卡中需要跑酷的地方并不完全都在主线上，但它无疑就像毛血旺里的花椒一样，久久不能忘怀；还有就是极弱的关卡引导，只能说确实很复古，但是也太古了点；再来就是最终的Boss战环节，前后铺垫做的落差很大，最终草草收场，由此可见捉襟见肘的程度。 [spoiler]还在为头脑简单玩不懂游戏而发愁吗？还在为思想浅薄只会跟从大众、人云亦云、鹦鹉学舌而遭人鄙夷吗？教你入手小众游戏、从另一位面享受游戏，让你成为特立独行的黑马玩家。听到了说听到了^^[/spoiler]
