About

Welcome to your new Skystead! It’s looking a bit worse for wear at the moment but that’s nothing you and your enchanted crook can’t fix. Starting with a desolate rock floating above the heavens, it’s your task to bring your Skystead back to life! Garden, ranch, and terraform your plot into a sanctuary teeming with life!

It won’t be long before your efforts to revive your Skystead are noticed. Friendly creatures we call Skylets will start to appear! Use your notebook to record all you learn about them; their likes, dislikes, and quirks will reveal themselves to you. Don’t forget to take pictures with your Skylets to record them at their best! Some Skylets might need some more persuading before they feel comfortable enough to stay permanently on your Skystead Ranch, but in no time at all they will begin to call your Skystead home!

No Skystead would be complete without a garden. Plough the soil, then the choice is yours: dig yourself a pond; grow a meadow; or just have a large lawn, it's up to you. Some of your new friends will like your garden in a certain way, while others will have other preferences. You'll need to plant crops, grow trees and bushes, and feed your new friends if you want to have the best Skystead in the world!

Now you have a garden and some new companions, it’s time to build bridges… literally! Construct large projects like a Pier for Skyships to dock with, a House to live in and upgrade, or clear out the old mine entrance to unlock a new zone. Not all constructions are mega projects though; protect your farms with fencing, drywall, or even a scarecrow or two! Make your Skystead your own with a selection of cosmetic and functional building options!

As your Skystead begins to take shape, you will find yourself unlocking new areas, construction options, and mechanics. Discover fishing, photography, and cooking while you make your Skystead the best around. Seek out and explore every cave and cliff face… who knows what you will unlock and which unique Skylets you might meet!

This review is presented to you by the Claws of the Wyvern for the AWG Curator! We would be happy if you visit and follow us. You`re always welcome. Sometimes a Developer Studio is trying something absolutly new. Toastie Labs is known for their nice Casual Indie Games, especially for COLOURING PIXELS. Now they are entering new Paths. They created a whole new World and we got a small look on it with their SKYSTEAD CHRISTMAS Game, that feels like a Little Map of this Project, a small casual Game for free. There you can see what is the World of SKystead About and have a look at their inhabitants called Skyleads. Then they released this Game which is a hugh Challenge towards their former Games. So, welcome to SKYSTEAD RANCH! SKYSTEAD RANCH is a farming Game including many different Creatures to collect. All is playing on flying Islands and it is up to you to create something new. You start on a small part and it is up to you to remove Junk, to terraform and to plant Food for the Skyleads that will come to live on your Ground. Later you will reach other Areas of this World by Building Bridges and more. You can later also build different Structures to create a World you like and where your Skyleads feel well. A nice done Tutorial will teach you the important Mechanics you need to suceed. Step by Step you explore the World and create something new. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3413097288 The Graphics are wonderfull colourfull and the Skyleads feel a Little bit like Family from the Pokémons. Cute animated and you can stroke, feed and tame them. The Sounds are also nice done and fit well in. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3413096369 Sounds all good, doesn´t it? As my Grandma once said, not everything that shines is Gold. The controls are a Little bit clunky. After 15 Hours i´m more familar with it, but it could have been better, more fluid. That goes first fore the Camera around. A Point a agree with other Reviews. There should be also an Inventory for your Figure, not only Chests. To be honest, in the Beginning it feels a Little bit annoying to get one Food and run to a Skylead, running back for another Food and then running to another Skylead and so on. It feels more like an Early Access Game and it should be so. There is much to fix. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3413095870 BUT, that doesn´t make the Game bad. There is so much Love in this Game and i like it. I really like it. The Developers are having a Road Map and they have achieved a lot. They are working hard on the Game and doing their Updates. I´m sure they will reach all the Goals. Patience from us Players is needed. Yes there are many farming Games out there, but i think this one deserve a Chance. It is really charming and chilling. Thanks for the Developers for the Invitation. I enjoyed my stay in Skystead and i will continue my Stay. Thank you for readig.
It hurts me to have to put this in not recommend because the devs are the nicest people ever, but I really wanted to play this and there are just some game breaking bugs that makes me unable to continue. Pros: the animals are super cute, the book is really sassy and funny, the gameplay loop is really satisfying. Cons: Game breaking bugs (water vs. meadows is mixed up, boat store sometimes just doesn't show up, my game now doesn't even let me use the store at all), a lot of confusion as to what to do next, achievements that don't show up on steam I could potentially go back to it when its been ironed out properly because I did find the game to be super fun, and I do want to play it. Finished? No (and will not) Steam Achievements? No idea! Steam Deck? Also no idea! Rating? 2/10 My curator page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45865425-CozyAriGames/ Full videos on Youtube
It should really have been released as an Early Access title as there is still a lot of work to be done. However, it is obvious that the developer is committed to continuing to support the game and listening to the playerbase. I have found the game play to be really satisfying so I do recommend it for anyone who is comfortable playing early access games. It is the closest game I have found to Viva Pinata so far. It would be great if there was a setting to lower the brightness though!
In Skystead Ranch we play a farmer having a ranch on a couple of floating islets. While it does have some farming aspects, I think it's more a creature collector and possible a... mhm... puzzle game? Managment? But not! Don't get me wrong, it's not a managment game! But you have to shuffle the segments of each part of your farm around a LOT to catch all those Skylets. Or make them feel welcome on your ranch. I really enjoyed that part about the game. Figuring out what works. Seems all simple enough, until you realize there is one Skylet, which wants you to already have 14 (unique) Skylets on that one plot of land. And to make it even more challenging (if you hunt achievements), you also need the other Dinos thrown in there. Took me probably the most of my playtime to figure it out. Skystead Ranch has potential! I think it can be a really good game. But at the moment it has still some quirks, which frustrated me a lot - fishing! Seriously, I hate fishing in this game! And it's ocassionally buggy. I'm sure they'll work on the kinks tho. Looking forward to getting back to it at some later time!
A very cosy creature collector with a unique art style, a big focus on farming and terraforming if that's what you're into. The music is so relaxing and changes depending on your island setup which I've never seen before.
I was really excited about this game, but after getting through the tutorial and spending some time trying to figure what to do I decided to return it. The game doesn't really explain what you are supposed to do after the tutorial. The goal is to collect the little creatures, but you kind of just have to figure out how to get them onto your farm. This game feels unfinished, and the camera controls are clunky. You can't look up or down, and moving the camera to look around is a pain. Loading also takes forever. I love the concept, but I think this game needs a little more work before I would consider buying it.
Adorable creature collector farming sim game. I have only played for a bit but so far my experience has been great. I love that you can learn about the creatures through interactions and caring for them. You could also take their pictures at different stages and it will be stored in your guide book. It takes some time to get used to the controls but nothing too difficult. Some mechanics of the game, I feel, is refreshing like how you can clear objects from a distance and it tells you how many hits it takes to destroy the object. Also, no need to water crops - that usually waste a lot of time in game. Music is relaxing. Currency in game is easy enough to earn and the items are not expensive. At this point of my game, it is not grindy and I hope it stays that way.
I have read some of the other reviews and granted the are items not finished in the game. However the developers and creative team are very active in adding new items to the game and expanding the game. I love the game and also the way it is working. Sure there are things that need to be tweaked. This is on my cozy game list and will continue to play this. This is my opinion and is not a reflection on how I got the game.
