Despite the game being in early access, the game is very fun to play. The controls and movement are easy to get used to, though the combat takes a lot of practice to get good at it. Speaking of the combat, it is very tight and quite smooth at the same time, making it feel really great. There is also a good amount of game modes to choose from along with a good amount of maps present, giving good replay-ability. The maps also have hidden secrets present that you'll probably miss unless you take the time to look. Like the description states, there is both offline Single-player with bots and online Multi-player with real people, either through Steam or LAN (though LAN mode requires installing a separate branch currently). By playing and completing matches, you earn EXP and Material which slowly unlocks more content in the game. It does not matter if you win or lose a match, you still get awarded with EXP and Material (though you get a bit less if you lose). Earning enough EXP unlocks new abilities and magic types which have different effects, as well as spawning Spores in the Lairworld which you can open by spending Material and rewards you with various cosmetics (or very rarely a bunch of Material). It takes a bit of time to unlock new abilities and magic types, which allows you to practice with your current abilities and magic types before being given new ones to use. Once you've unlocked every type of magic and ability though, there is a surprising amount of build variation. Cosmetics on the other hand are unlocked much faster especially in multi-player where you earn more Material on average, which means being able to customize your dragon doesn't take very long to do. Everything in the game can be unlocked through offline single-player. Some bugs are present, a lot of stuff is not fully polished yet (like the animations, character models, maps, GP system, etc) and there are currently no PvE game modes or offline campaign of some sort for singe-player. Despite those issues, the game has great potential due to the core game-play loop as well as being able to be played both offline and online!

Skyfear is a lovely early access game that has a big future ahead of itself. If things go right, I can imagine it can be great success. It certainly wont be a competitor to Century, but that is also clearly not what its aiming to be. Gameplay is quick, precise, and fun. You get shot down fast, but you hop right into the fray at the same rate, making it particularly rewarding when you have a good streak of kills. The biggest plus I'd say is that the dev for the game has an incredibly healthy and refreshing vision on what they want to achieve with the game, how it is meant to look, and is very reasonable about compromising popular aspects in game dev (i.e hyperrealistic graphics) to focus on gameplay instead. The game does not look terrible at all and performs great. I highly recommend supporting it!
I recently had the chance to dive into Skyfear, and I have to say, it's an absolute blast! The gameplay mechanics are incredibly fun and unique, making every moment feel fresh and exciting. Whether you're engaging in intense combat or exploring the game's world, the mechanics are smooth and rewarding. The maps are beautifully detailed and immersive. From the smallest of environments to the vast landscapes, every corner feels carefully crafted, and there's so much to discover in each area. You can tell that the developers have put a lot of effort into creating a world that truly pulls you in. What really stands out to me are the game modes – they're diverse, fast-paced, and filled with action. Every mode offers something different, keeping the experience exciting and ensuring there's always something new to try. I’m really looking forward to what’s coming next, especially with the game still in early access. It’s clear that the dev is passionate about continuously improving and adding more content, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Skyfear! Definitely a must-play for anyone who enjoys high-energy, detailed, and ever-evolving gameplay!
for whats its starting out as this game has a lot of potential and its really fun

game fun
It's good for an EA game, but it needs some major optimisation, some animation reworks, more abilities and perks, and more cosmetics to grind for. Aside from that ill rate a 7/10 for now.
.
It's definitely Early Access. Even at $15, I'd wait until they flush things out a bit. Skyfear needs to learn a lot from Century Age Of Ashes (CAOA) in terms of aerial combat. The whole game feels so lifeless. Protoria Studios, please don't do the whole season pass skin thing like CAOA, just give this game some life.
