Gra Dziecinstwa. Maciej Stuhr odgrywa Głos głównego bohatera czyli Szymka .
In questo terzo capitolo di Simon, lo ritroviamo cambiato o meglio è sordid che a quanto pare ha preso momentaneamente il suo corpo prima di trovarne uno più adatto, grazie all'aiuto del suo seguace. Il corpo viene buttato ma recuperato da uno dei amici del mago calypso, lo stesso che lui ha salvato nel primissimo titolo. E qui inizia il gioco. In cui il protagonista si risveglia nella camera della rinascita e deve riuscire ad uscirne. Questa prima sezione fa da tutorial per i comandi, avrà anche fata madrina che spiegherà sia a simon che al giocatore i vari controlli. Il controllo del personaggio così come la grafica fa molto versione "hd" di un gioco ps1 con i suoi pro e contro. In poche parole simon è un carro armato peggio di lara croft nel suo primo titolo. Il gioco si comanda solo con la tastiera, il mouse serve solo nell'inventario. Ed è si, un'avventura grafica ma ha anche sezioni action che potrebbero frustrarvi, come il percorso tra le sabbie mobili verso la fine del terzo capitolo. Non bastasse, anche gli enigmi sono illogici, nel secondo capitolo trovate un npc che vuole essere liberato dalla fossa. Ma il gioco non contempla che voi lo liberiate ma solo che gli rubate il suo metal detector. ^^; Altra cosa. In questo gioco contano i soldi. Alcuni oggetti si devono comprare con la valuta del gioco, ma tranquilli, se parlate con un npc sempre nel secondo capitolo, vi metterete a catturare farfalle in cambio di monete, tra cui, una farfalla speciale che vi darà un bel gruzzolo, tanto da non aver bisogno di altre monete. Ma ci saranno altri modi per guadagnarle. La maggioranza degli enigmi sono criptici o strambi come: Cliccare su un cartello attento alle termiti. E dopo una scenetta, lo avrete in inventario, bene, il cartello è una pala travestita. O dover farsi dare una forma di formaggio che servirà a bloccare la porta di uscita d'emergenza sul retro del pub. Altro problema è che il gioco è diviso in piccoli sand box. Dopo aver lasciato il tempio a modo suo, vi ritrovate nello spazio aperto in cui ci sono varie zone di interesse ( No, niente mappa, a parte nelle cabine telefoniche che fungono da teletrasporto.) Con iI ponte che vi poterà nella città dove vi attende calypso. Qui, ci sono varie cose da fare, tra enigmi o trasformare simon in un corridore per mangiare tutti i dolcetti, ognuno entro 7 secondi che vi porterà alla casa di pan di zenzero della strega, e altro. C'e anche una zona segreta in questo primo sand box. Poi c'e la città, dove il mago vi attende, e anche qui dovrete risolvere enigmi. O per liberare una ragazza, dovete andare nell'ufficio dello sceriffo e aprire l'armadietto dietro di lui per prendere la chiave, Peccato che la stanza è piena di cose che al minimo tocco fanno rumore. Se lo svegliate vi butta fuori. Non è un enigma, dovete raggiungere l'obbiettivo comandando il protagonista con la tastiera. Altri problemi di questo gioco sono di natura software, con bug grafici, sottotitoli con colori blu scuro che non si leggono e l'ultimo capitolo con i sottotitoli totalmente in francese, anche se avete avuto fino a poco fa sottotitoli in italiano. Ho dovuto risolvere un enigma sentendo il doppiaggio inglese e traducendo le risposte che dava il personaggio, per fare tutto bene e superare l'enigma. Per finire, l'ultimo enigma che è veramente impossibile o quasi nel 2023, dover premere il tasto eject nel vostro cd/dvd/blu ray player del vostro computer. ( E chi li ha più i lettori. ) Altrimenti sarete bloccati a pochi passi dalla fine. ^^; ( Questa è una copia digitale. ) Con questa versione digitale bisogna usare un programma di lettore virtuale e montare una iso, poi entrare nel gioco e una volta davanti all'ultimo puzzle ritornare su win e smontare l'iso. Provato e funziona anche su steam. ^_^ La longevità è molto alta, ma per tutti i problemi di frustrazione e enigmi strani, non ve lo consiglio neanche a 1€, altro che i 3 € di questi saldi. Ci sono avventure grafiche migliori. Questo titolo è un jolly che vuole fare varie cose ma è riuscito a fare nulla. Solo la storia con alcuni spunti divertenti e la lunga longevità sono passabili. Un pò meno le musiche, il resto è da buttare. P.s: Ogni volta che finivo una sessione di gioco, l'o.s rallentava di brutto. ^^; P.s 2: I blooper durante i crediti di fine gioco son più divertenti dell'intero gioco. ^^;
Simon the Sorcerer 3D takes the beloved fantasy adventure series in a bold new direction by transitioning from its traditional 2D roots into a fully three-dimensional world. While the visual leap was ambitious for its time, the game remains faithful to the core identity that made the franchise popular: witty writing, imaginative fantasy settings, eccentric characters, and puzzle-driven gameplay. The story once again follows Simon, the sarcastic young magician whose latest misadventure begins after his soul is reunited with his body on top of an ancient Aztec temple. After a daring escape with the aid of his fairy godmother, Simon finds himself pulled back into a magical realm where the mysterious Nexus has become the center of a dangerous conflict. His long-time rival, Sordid, seeks to harness its immense power, leaving Simon with the task of preventing another magical catastrophe. The narrative is one of the game's strongest features, blending comedy and fantasy with a healthy dose of self-aware humor. Simon's cynical personality continues to carry much of the experience, and his sarcastic remarks make even routine conversations entertaining. Returning characters such as Calypso, the Swampling, and the Woodworm help reconnect longtime fans with the series, while the large supporting cast keeps the world feeling lively and unpredictable. The game features an enormous amount of spoken dialogue, with thousands of voiced lines that deliver jokes, quirky exchanges, and numerous references to classic fantasy stories and popular culture. This extensive voice acting gives each character a distinct personality and helps maintain the lighthearted tone from beginning to end. Exploration and puzzle-solving remain at the heart of the experience. Players travel through a large interconnected fantasy world, examining environments, gathering useful objects, and combining inventory items to overcome increasingly elaborate challenges. Rather than emphasizing action or combat, the game rewards curiosity, observation, and logical thinking. Many puzzles require players to remember earlier discoveries or revisit previous locations, creating a satisfying sense of progression as different pieces gradually come together. The move into 3D also allows for broader environments that encourage exploration, making the magical world feel larger and more immersive than previous installments. The adventure offers a substantial amount of content, with a campaign that can easily provide over forty hours of gameplay for those who enjoy carefully investigating every location. The lengthy quest is filled with unusual characters, humorous situations, and numerous puzzles that steadily increase in complexity. Fans of traditional adventure games will likely appreciate the deliberate pace, where success depends on paying close attention to dialogue and experimenting with the environment rather than following objective markers or receiving constant guidance. The game embraces the design philosophy of classic point-and-click adventures, encouraging patience and rewarding persistence. Although the transition to 3D was technically impressive for its era, the presentation inevitably reflects its age. Character models, animations, and environmental detail appear dated when viewed through a modern lens, and camera controls occasionally make navigation less convenient than expected. Nevertheless, the colorful fantasy locations retain a distinctive charm that complements the whimsical atmosphere, while the exaggerated art direction suits the comedic nature of Simon's adventures. Rather than aiming for realism, the game focuses on creating a playful magical world filled with bizarre creatures and imaginative settings that remain memorable despite their technical limitations. The audio presentation deserves particular praise. The fully voiced dialogue significantly enhances the storytelling, allowing Simon's sharp wit and the supporting cast's personalities to shine throughout the adventure. Combined with atmospheric music and fitting sound effects, the voice performances help breathe life into the magical world and reinforce the game's comedic style. The inclusion of multiple voice and subtitle language options also makes this classic adventure more accessible to players from different regions. Simon the Sorcerer 3D is not without its shortcomings. Certain puzzles rely on obscure solutions that may frustrate players unfamiliar with older adventure game conventions, and the combination of dated controls and occasional camera awkwardness can slow the pace. Some sections require extensive backtracking, and the absence of modern quality-of-life features means players must rely heavily on careful observation and memory. However, these aspects are largely representative of the era in which the game was originally designed and may even appeal to players who enjoy the challenge of classic adventure titles. Overall, Simon the Sorcerer 3D successfully preserves the humor, memorable storytelling, and puzzle-focused gameplay that define the series while ambitiously expanding its world into full 3D. Despite aging visuals and some outdated mechanics, its entertaining script, lovable cast, expansive fantasy setting, and lengthy adventure continue to make it a worthwhile experience for fans of classic point-and-click games. Those willing to overlook its technical limitations will discover a charming, humorous, and rewarding fantasy adventure that remains an important chapter in Simon's long-running magical journey. Rating: 6/10
Gra z mojego dzieciństwa. Miło było powrócić do tej gry, dialogi bawią cały czas. Luźna przyjemna gierka do pogrania. ;)
always crashes, lots of bugs / lost hours of playing several times
A highly anticipated adventure game that flopped. Simon the Sorcerer was a very highly rated saga of adventure games back in the 90s. They are similar in tone and atmosphere to the first Monkey Island games but with british humour. Their wonderful pixelart, professional voice cast and parody of every fantasy trope, made them classics in the genre. Now we have the sequel, Simon the Sorcerer 3D was supposed to be another 2D game but it was scraped and instead we get a fully 3D conversion. Open worlds with nothing but grass and fences, a huge town with generic buildings, tons of clipping and glitchy collisions, and the worst graphics you will see in a long time. Originally released in 2002, the game looks like something made in Microsoft 3D Movie Maker (from 1995), with sceneries and mechanics that look more like Super Mario 64 or Zelda Ocarina of Time. Simon can crouch, walk, run and jog. Some puzzles are even built around this mechanics, including weird stealth sections. It's unclear what was the art direction, the 3d character models are blocky and ugly, most with very disproportionate heads, skinny bodies and weird bobbing animations. Speaking of plot, it takes immediately after the huge cliffhanger from Simon 2. Simon is resurrected and is still trapped in the magic universe. Some of the most regarded characters from previous games return, like Swampy, Goldilocks and the duo of demons. The villains are still Sordid and Runt. It's generally ok, but it ends with yet another cliffhanger, this time making even less sense than the last time. Without really spoiling a lot, the game is infamous for the final puzzle, which seemed like something original at the time, but now it's a guide dang and an issue with some systems. There are harmless and funny glitches all over the game, but there's also critical ones. Particularly all the collisions inside the inn in chapter 3 are a disaster. You will get stuck in doors, clip through walls, get stuck in the cellar, etc. In case someone is stuck in doors, the only reliable way to get unstuck is to press ESC while you are walking and then resume the game. Also be ware that near the end of the game, there's a nasty crash after a bridge that is almost impossible to circumvent, I had to use a savegame to bypass it. There's also the issue with Simon, he was always a bratty, arrogant, 4th wall breaker teenager. This game makes him the worst human being in the world. From the start, Simon will consciously cause the death of many people. It's supposed to be played as a comedy, but many people dislike playing heroes like this. Simon feels like even a more ruthless version of Rufus from the Deponia series. He is also constantly interrupted by a faery who acts as a tutorial, explaining mostly obvious interactions like how to walk or use a lever. At one point, you are required to climb a random rock to make progress and that's one of the few times where there's no tutorial at all. With the world being huge, there are two ways of fast travel. Unfortunately it's still a drag, you are required to watch an unskippable cutscene every time, and the more readily available teleport phone cabins won't cover every place. There's also quite a lot of minigames which are generally stock games. One of the stealth sections require to navigate a police station with pixel perfect precision. It's hard to find good things but there's actually a couple. The music is superb like in previous entries. Some of the puzzles are also quite creative, unfortunately it takes so long to move from place to place that it's a chore to try theories out. Inventory is even trimmed at one point, with a typical 4th wall break, and to my surprise the inventory was still huge. I love Simon the Sorcerer, but this game is probably one of the worst commercial adventure games ever made. Avoid and watch a playthrough instead.
good needs cotroller support tho
