When this game says its early access it means it. I quite enjoy the premise and when it worked I was excited to play and when bug fixes roll out I will intend to play and might update my review but I couldn't even make it past the tutorial...a lot of the characters would say they can be talked to and they wouldn't a lot of clues I were getting didn't pertain to the clues I had and every NPC eventually said they didn't have anything else to say and I just had to guess. When I inevitably failed and restarted I had to close out of the game entirely and restart it otherwise the suspects wouldn't even give me half of the information they were supposed to and then I REALLY had to guess. Put this on top of the game already being intentionally vague and hard to understand on purpose it just led to frustration.
haha i love this, its a really silly detective game. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, but you still have to pay attention to the clues and each character’s personality to figure things out, some of the cases can actually be pretty challenging! I really liked the silly humor and all the weird characters too. I also like that the suspects can change between cases, giving you a reason to replay them and see what happens differently. Definitely gonna play some more!

In the current state (which I hope changes due to it being early access), I would not recommend this game. It is very buggy - finding all suspects and leading them to crime scene, only to have them not want to talk further about themselves leading you to have a lack of information to disqualify them as a suspect and prove them innocent. So then you're wandering around talking to random NPCs and giving them items for information only for them to give you things you have no reference to because the suspects didn't tell you about themselves. Frustrating to have to guess 1/4 characters to be wrong everytime when you didn't have a chance from the start and all NPC information is actual nonsense and doesn't apply half the time. I hope this game improves because I really like this concept and was so excited to play only to be let down. :(
Im looooving this game, so many cool and weird characters to talk to (some will try to fool you and others will help) each case can be played multiple times as the suspects change and you get to explore the new funny things they say also i guess the developer is also a silly suspect because i gave my mouse so cheese for encouragement but its still not working XD
What a weird little game, loved the characters and the silly walks and funky pets, nice premise but still needs lots of work, will visit again in the future as i like the whole vibe of the silly town. Also the narrator's sound is awesome
Great fun with interesting and challenging puzzles. Loved the sense of humour will have you chuckling throughout! Appreciate a game developer who takes feedback from users and promptly incorporates that feedback (yet another reason to support independent game developers!).
This game seemed fun so i gave it a try. And WOW! it was kinda funny for some of it, but it just isn't playable in the state it is in now. Suspects just speak gibberish compared to what the witnesses say, nothing ever really matches and for the three runs i did on this game, I got the suspect wrong every single time except the last time and it was 100% a pure guess. My third run nothing matched up literally at all with anything and i blind guessed the criminal. This just feels like the clues, the suspects, what the random witnesses will say are just that, all randomly selected and not tailor made to make sense. My first run I had clues matching and what I felt was a obvious suspect and NOPE it wasn't them!!! IF YOU ARE ONLY GOING TO HAVE ON CHAMCE TO GUESS WHO THE CRIMINAL IS! MAKE IT MAKE SENSE THEN!!! YOU CAN'T PIECE ANY INFORMATION TOGETHER IF IT DOESN'T MATTER AT ALL!!!!
SillySuspects is exactly what the name suggests: silly, chaotic and genuinely funny. The town and its strange NPCs give the game a lot of character, and there’s always some ridiculous task or conversation to keep you entertained. The problem is that the gameplay can start to feel repetitive after a few hours. You keep doing silly tasks for NPCs to get information, but eventually the jokes aren’t enough to hide how similar some of the tasks feel. The lack of controller support and the very limited music and sound also feel like missed opportunities. Hopefully thwese are improved in the full launch. Still, the game’s biggest strength is how committed it is to being funny. It knows what it wants to be and sticks with it. With more variety, a bigger world and better sound, SillySuspects could become an even more enjoyable experience.
Silly Suspects is a fun and charming detective game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Exploring the crime scene, questioning the bizarre suspects, and slowly narrowing down who did it is surprisingly engaging. The ridiculous characters and their strange responses give the game a lot of personality, and I found myself laughing more than once while trying to decide who was lying. There are still a few rough edges and bugs, which is understandable for an Early Access release, but the core idea is already enjoyable and has a lot of potential. I’m looking forward to seeing more cases, suspects, and improvements as the game develops. If you enjoy lighthearted mysteries, deduction, and silly humor, this is definitely worth checking out!
Really lovely little game. I've been following Silly Suspects in the Discord for a while, so it was exciting to finally get to play. It made me laugh a few times, and while the mysteries aren't exactly CSI-level difficult, they do make you stop and think about the clues instead of handing you the answer. It's still in Early Access and you can definitely feel that in a few places. The world feels a little empty audio-wise at the moment, and I'd love to see more variety in the puzzles as the game develops. That said, there's already a lot of personality here and I'm excited to follow along and see what gets added next.
