SHROUD OF THE AVATAR: FORSAKEN VIRTUES is a multiplayer fantasy RPG that sets the player on a path filled with peril and tough choices as they explore a persistent realm that can be shared with other Avatars. It is the spiritual successor to Richard Garriott’s Ultima games.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.

I backed this project on Kickstarter a long time ago, it was a mistake. I was less wise back then and didn't know that things are not meant to last forever, Ultima Online was a part of my life in the early 2000s and it should have stayed there as a beautiful memory of the past. The creator tried to capture lightning in a bottle again, but these things happen only once in a lifetime. The world has moved on and I have moved on, this game is not good by today standards and I don't even like multiplayer games anymore.
clunky ah game. significant lack of qol and other features that are considered an industry standard for mmos

I thought this would be a more modern version of UO - was looking forward for a full tamer, it worked until they killed it. Ya, of course, tames are too strong because specific combinations with other classes become ridiculus. But its just the tames, that are the problem. Several years later, they "fixed" it by bringing the specialisation nearly back up on par for about 100x more time, money and effort investment than any other class. Sad.

i dont think anyone plays this anymore.....shame
HUGE BUG -- sometimes your cursor just vanishes. Then it's really hard to click anything in the UI. Have to exit and restart the game. Starts boring and stays that way for a long time. Long distances to walk, which would be fine if the quests were exciting and you aren't constantly walking back because your inventory is stacked and there's no storage. At least not in the early game. Crafting looks detailed but is actually tedious with too many ingredients and not enough useful early recipes to match the materials you get. Piles of skills and you level them but just spamming them whenever you can. For example you can just equip a weapon, hack away at a training dummy, and just go away for a coffee and come back later. Grindy and probably meant to be grindy. But at least it could be more exciting in the meantime? Lots of crafting but at least you could make it worthwhile early on like give us things to craft and sell, or furnishing to place?
Happily surprised with this. It is exactly what I was looking for, simplicity. I don't feel rushed to power level, I can enjoy the scenery and talk to everyone. Find hidden things and forage all day long. You even have the option of playing completely offline, which is a whole other level of chill. I love it.
Good game, brings back memories from Ultima ONline, there is still a community that is willing to help. Give it a try you wont be dissapointed. It is an old style MMO
Батя Ultima полез в могилу воскрешать классику, а вытащил кривую MMO-нежить: деревянная боевка, больной интерфейс, пыльная Unity-графика и ностальгия, которой лучше не смотреть в лицо.
I really wish I could like this game, the idea of building your character how ever you want with different skills is really appealing. But, the game is filled with ♥♥♥♥ tons of abandoned Player House and Player Towns that just add to the annoying stuttering and lag the game already seem to be plagued with and no matter how low I put the graphics, its still happening, so... yeah. Also, the game has achievements that don't seem like they're working.
