Showgunners

Basically the movie the running man with prep time. The game is fun, the pace is great, characters are great, the music is awesome (made by some of the lads from cp 2077). If you like cyberpunk (as a genre, not the game) and the 80s, you would probably love that game too :).

Fast paced X-com and a different take story wise. It's pretty fun. Some modifiers make some level interesting, but I'm not sure about replayability

Absolutny majstersztyk turowy. Przepiękna oprawa graficzna, mistrzowska muzyka i idealny klimat cyberpunkowy. Bardzo ciekawy pomysł fabularny, co dodaję klimatu. Gra mnie pochłonęła na kilka dziesiąta godzin, łącznie z dodatkami. Bardzo polecam 👌

I know how this sort of game is described: “It’s just a poor man’s XCOM 2.” And sure, the tactical gameplay is similar, but this game has a spirit of its own. The dystopian game show setting is really awesome. I love the small details, like the weird fans asking for autographs or the crowd chanting “finish him!” when you’re down to your last opponent. I love wandering around the rest-area hub, chatting to fellow contestants and filming interviews. It’s got just the right balance of dark humor and seriousness. Now, unfortunately, there’s not much customization. There are seven playable characters, all of whom fill a specific niche, and you simply swap their weapons and items. On the other hand, that allows for more personal stories, which wouldn’t have been possible with blank-slate heroes. I definitely think this game is worth it, and I would love to see a Showgunners 2.

simpler lower budget xcom in some ways, but very enjoyable, I loved this game, I really hope it does well enough they can do another one with a bigger budget

PLAY ON 1 LIFE MODE ON YOUR FIRST PLAYTHROUGH. IF YOU DIE, DELETE THE GAME OFF YOUR STEAM ACCOUNT. Thats it. Its a white knuckle ride if you do. The entire game is pure and destilled ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and I was locked in from start to finish. Getting the game at 50-90% off and 1-life'ing it will give you something to remember. Otherwise skip this. Oh, and just skip the DLC at the end.

This game is a hidden gem for any turn-based combat fan. Similar to Xcom except your shots actually land. + Character abilities are so satisfying with 6 playable characters. + Story is nothing crazy but its entertaining with a few decent cutscenes. + Progression is fun with nice skill upgrades and some cool weapons. + The "exploration" mode between fights is nothing crazy but its neat collecting gear/supplies, doing puzzles and avoiding traps. 100% worth on sale if you're a fan Turn-based tactics. I played through it twice and would honestly play through it again just because the gameplay is so fun.

A fairly by-the-numbers turn based tactics game, but the gameshow aesthetic is fun and the combat is solid. On the default difficulty it was a bit unchallenging, so if you're a tactics veteran and you're looking to push yourself more, definitely go for a difficult setting above normal. Runs well on steam deck.
