Short Sad Stories is a very pleasant surprise. It deserves more attention. As I play a lot of adult games I come across gems like this from time to time. Apart from minor flaws, there's something about it that makes it special and stands out from the crowd for me. As far as the visuals are concerned the game is outdated, I think that's what puts people off the most but personally I was drawn into the story enough. I especially felt compensated for this visual drawback by the fact that a lot of the time Short Sad Stories quite cinematic-photographic in its settings and you can feel a kind of artistic approach and vision. As the title suggests, the game follows several threads of characters whose stories sometimes intersect. Perhaps what gives the greatest sense of freedom and what really personalises the story is that you can make decisions with multiple characters. These choices can nuance the story just enough to make you identify with the characters. The mood of the game and the style in which it tells the story captivated me from the start. The best word to describe it is perhaps bittersweet because each character's life has its difficulties which are really emotionally taxing but there are always times when there is silver lining, humour and sex just like in life. Overall, I recommend it to those who are more experienced and patient visual novel fans. Despite the not too pretty visuals, I was amply compensated and in the end I'm very glad I didn't miss these short sad stories.

[/h1] H씬이 나오기는 하지만 주인공 엘리스의 망상/행동변화에 초점을 두었습니다. 도중부터 스킵해서 그냥 두서없이 적음. 스토리상 앨리스(주인공)가 나쁜짓을 상상하는 장면이 많이 나옴. 그 상상의 장면에는수위높은 장면도 있고 폭력적인 장면도 있음. 선택지에서 뭐 고르냐에 따라 일부 상황이 달라지지만 전체적인 흐름은 동일함. 엘리스가 남자랑도 섹1스하고 여자랑도 섹1스함. 나중엔 남자 1명에 여자 다수 붙는 장면도 나옴. 갤러리 없음. 성우연기 없음. CG에 공을 많이 들인건 확실한데 그다지 꼴리지는 않는다. 아니 개발자가 야한거 보다는 다른것에 초점을 두었기에 야한게 주 콘텐츠가 아님. 가격이 싼 편이고 CG량 및 분량 보면 가성비 좋음. 다만 추천주기도 애매하고 비추천 주기도 애매함. 그래서 추천은 못하겠음. [h1]비추천. 단 누가 사겠다면 따로 뭐라 말 안하겠음.[/h1]

The MC is a young, bookish, shy girl confused about her sexuality, and you see her develop through the story, along with the intertwined stories of her friends and acquaintances. All the characters are totally relatable and three-dimensional, and the story - which deals with depression, suicide, anorexia, guilt, sexual awakening and complicated relationships among other things - is a real "page turner", for me at least. The art really adds to the emotional impact of the story (or stories), though if you're after realism and sex animations this won't be your thing. The sex scenes are handled sensitively and, IMO, beautifully. What really nails it, though, is the way the narrative moves seamlessly from one character to the next, so you are "living" the scenes through different characters and making their decisions (sometimes swapping characters mid-scene!), so getting deeper into who they are. In short it's an everyday tale of everyday characters living everyday lives, and that's its charm.

I like them all, but this one is his masterpiece so far! The art is very high quality. Those who have already play some other games of Pent Panda will recognize his style. The game lives up to its name. It's deeper and darker than his other games. About losses, death, recovering, mental issues, life being harsh, but still with hope. Despite the darkness of some part of the story, Pent Panda manage to put some funny/silly moments from time to time, which lightens up an otherwise depressing story. About the gameplay, it's a classical AVN, created in Ren'Py. We start by playing a girl (Alice by first default name choice). But during the game, we will switch to her brother, and other characters. In fact, we will follow stories of a bunch of young adults, dealing with more or less rough situations. Sometimes, you will even replay the same scene twice, but as a different character, seeing things from 2 different points of view. Generally, I'm not so fan of multi-protagonists game, but here, it doesn't bother me. Because it's well done. It's an adult VN, so there are some sex scenes. After all, the protagonists are young adults, with desires. But porn is definitely not the driving force behind this game. Overall, a great game!

Great VN with a good story. Sometimes a bit too much drama for my taste, but all in all certainly more than worth its price. Characters have normal bodies and proportions, way better than what is usual. Looking forward to see more from this developer, kudos !

Diese Adult VN ist super! Man muss sich manchmal zwar eine Träne verkneifen, weil sie doch auch recht traurig ist, manchmal muss man aber auch grinsen. Hier haben wir eine VN, welche den Action Teil eigentlich gar nicht nötig hat. Hatte davor erst eine AVN gespielt, welche die Kategorie eigentlich nicht verdient, da es dort immer dunkel wird, wenn es zu Sache geht. Die Geschichte ist manchmal so traurig, dass ich tatsächlich eine Spielpause einlegen muss, um nicht komplett runtergezogen zu werden. Einfach weil einem die Charaktere so ans Herz wachsen, selbst in der Kürze der Spielzeit, ich hab bisher 2,5 Stunden auf der Uhr, bin aber noch nicht fertig. Und ich denke, wir haben hier auch einen hohen Wiederspielwert, da einige Entscheidungen weitreichende Folgen haben können. Diese AVN ist jeden einzelnen Cent wert, auch ohne Steam-Errungenschaften. Ich freue mich schon auf den DLC und kann es kaum erwarten - aber erst einmal muss ja eine Rezension geschrieben werden ;)

A very well crafted, emotional story, full of relatable characters who you enjoy getting to know their stories and the way they intersect in a very well crafted story IMO. I just wish this developer had more games available because I would 100 percent love to try another of their creations. Highly recommend

There's nothing to be said except that it is good story about life. Everyone should play it.
