Short Oval Extreme

I've been lucky enough to test Short Oval Extreme from the early stages and this release delivers on its promise as one of the most convincing takes on UK short oval racing. I wasn't even a fan of the discipline before - and you don't have to be to enjoy it - but this game sure made me take an interest, for all of its features. First off it looks gorgeous, let's leave it at that. This guy knows his racing, and how to make it look good (just look at Super Retro GP or DDI Rally Championship if you need further proof). But the similarities with his previous games ends there, at least handling-wise. When the previous ones were pure arcade experiences, this one crosses the line into simcade physics, and really strike a rare balance — grounded enough to feel authentic, yet fluent and enjoyable for players who value fun alongside realism (or younger players who want to drive daddy's banger). Cars have a lot more weight to them, and they responds with just the right amount of weight and grip (or loss thereof), making the racing both accessible and deeply rewarding once you start getting the hang of it. Speaking of realism, I gotta mention the developer’s methodical approach to authenticity. Each circuit has been recreated from real-world locations using detailed drone scans, capturing every contour and camber with unprecedented precision in an indie title (to my knowledge at least). That's not only true for the visuals, but for the sound design as well. What you get here is genuine trackside atmosphere, real radio chatter, ambient noises from live events have been carefully recorded and integrated... All in all creating a level of immersion that instantly pulls you into the experience. This is still Early Access, so I'm sure lots more content will come and complement an outstanding foundation. It's quite obvious this is a passion project, and we're in for a few more treats with this one. In an era of broken AAA games ridden with microtransactions and ways to make you lose your money, show your support for a great indie project and get this one, you won't regret it.

The game is finally available in early access and I'm excited for it! Current content is bare but a great view into how the game will look as a complete build. The driving doesn't feel very good yet but that allowed me to get a very good idea of how functional the damage system is. Looking forward to updates

this game has every fundamental to be the best short ovel game that has ever hit the marked even in early realsse couldnt recomend more great game

brilliant game all ready saying its not even complete and for £15 its a steal cannot wait for full release

good game, dosen't have all Brisca f1 drivers but it is still in super early access would like to see other tracks become available soon since the 3 tracks currently available can get repetitive. would recomend

Just dropped but I can see this having enormous potential in a type of racing so far ignored in the racing community. The physics are unforgiving, as are the real cars. The sim is going to set a new standard for Non-American style oval racing. ***Edit: We have now gone more than 6 weeks with no updates, the game remains 80% unplayable on Steam. All of the potential I was hopeful for now has evaporated. This was a great concept for a little represented type of racing. I no longer feel this will live up to any of my expectations.
