Opened this gem today and I'm blown away by how far it's come! The developer's talent shines through—this game is a testament to their skill. Smooth game play, excellent optimization, and a perfect way to pass the time. Can't wait to dive into this with friends
This game was on my wishlist and I got it upon release. I'll play anything and everything with pirates. Game is currently early access, so my review can change, however i'll break down my experience thus far... PROS: - Pirate game - Player models are great - Lots of different weapons - Music and sound effects are very piratey CONS: - Enemy models do not match player models. Pirates have big heads whilst the skeletons have small heads. It's very jarring I also feel the spiders, crocs, and crabs seem to be a bit more 'serious' in tone as opposed to the toony pirates - BOT AI is hit and miss. Anne Bonny was decent, Blackbeard was broken(running around in circles) - BUG where enemies just despawned around me. Sometimes they turned invisible and kept attacking me - The flintlock is just too overpowered. I'll use the bomb and cannon, but the cutlass seems pointless when I can just shoot everything. Perhaps a reload function? Flintlocks were single shots. Maybe have limited number of flintlocks you carry? SUGGESTIONS: - More pirates: Edward Collier, Charles Vane, Mary Read, Henry Morgan - An option to either buy or have an upgrade that let's you suck in nearby treasure - Ghost pirates would be a fun enemy idea. Navy soldiers maybe. - Parrots! - Different maps would be nice - Loot 'Goblins' and maybe Boss enemies - Blunderbuss, boarding axe, anchor, daggers, and rifle could be fun to add - Hooks and Peglegs would be nice. Blackbeard has an eye patch, so I don't see the issue. OVERALL: - I'm willing to stick with this game as long as it's not abandoned. Supporting pirate games is important.
It's been a blast helping with this over the last couple years and I'm so excited to see it finally reach Early Access
Really fun game with friends, I love it.
Been helping test the beta version of the game and honestly, had a blast with it. Its the sort of game you can fire up when you have 15 or 20 minutes spare and just blast some skellies away, or you can invest some more time into and get some progress done. Snowchimp has done a great job at building out a set of mechanics that all feel really rewarding and enjoyable to do, with really good feedback and fun effects. Looking forward to seeing the game expand over its early access! All the best to the dev - hope launch goes great :)
Really fun extraction pirate game! Nice aesthetic with a really catchy soundtrack and lots of polish Love the world and I love how easy it is to jump into a match and get into some action
This game is honestly so much fun! It's one of those games where you're running your ass off and there's all this chaos going on around you and then once you die you realize you were smiling the whole time. And this was playing with bots! I think playing with friends would be 10x more fun! The art is amazing and really well polished and well done. The UI is very clean and beautiful. This is a great game!
This game is visually stunning with it's own unique look and has an extremely dedicated developer with a vision. The gameplay is continuously being worked on with community suggestions and feedback taken very seriously, the gameplay is very smooth and fluid and will be a big hit for Pirate fans who also enjoy Plants vs Zombies series. The deeply thought out gameplay mechanics make the game fun and interesting. Keep an eye on this one, it's worth every penny at the $20 price tag.
Super addictive game! Fun to navigate, battle, and gather bounty! I really liked the sound design as well. Looking forward to leveling up and unlocking more powerful characters. Definitely worth your time and money.
