Shoot Trip Die is a psychedelic, arcade, rogue-like romp! Finger blast your way through dozens of levels mowing down strange monsters and collecting even weirder items, all to get back to your pissed stained mattress! It's got Kick! It's got Bite! And It'll Mess. You. Up! You got what it takes?...

Fun and quirky roguelike that can best be described as a The Binding of Isaac-like: four levels with around ten floors and a boss each, a final boss on top of that, 20-something items with various effects on stats such as damage, speed, rate of fire and health... It's very short but plays well and has a fun if slightly creepy atmosphere. Definitely recommend giving it a try on sale! chester bodean is my best friend. such a cool guy. love running around with him and marbles the rat.
Quick Score: 3/5 Notes: Pretty polished binding of isaac type game. The biggest issues with the game are the severe lack of variety and content, as well as the pretty unbalanced RNG and difficulty curve. The 1st 2 (out of 4) worlds are extremely easy and once you have went through them a couple times are very tedious to get through, and then suddenly starting form world 3 onwards the games difficulty ramps up to a stupid degree. And unless you got extremely lucky with your build or stacking health from the coin machine, you will not survive. The only video on youtube of someone clearing the brutal mode of this game has him getting almost 20 extra lives from the coin slot machines and getting so lucky with upgrades that he is shooting like 20x the base rate of fire before they even make it to the final bosses lmao. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_55TA2q4G1s In terms of RNG, the main way you win or lose this game basically entirely revolves around whether you get get a couple key damage items and/or get lucky with the coin slot machine. The coin slot machine is especially bizzare because of how insanely impactful it can be. You have pretty high odds of either the machine instantly jamming and giving you nothing, or you go on a streak and end up getting 10+ health out of it instantly quadrupling your total health pool. I really like the style of the game and I overall enjoyed the first couple hours, but that's about all I would recommend it for. If you are are looking for an Isaac roguelike type game to sink a bunch of hours into, this isn't it.
Pretty cool roguelite similar to The Binding of Isaac. Lacks content but if you got it on sale is worth.
If you want a quick and fun roguelike that you can pick up, then get this game and never play its hard mode. it sucks. but literally everything else about the game is pretty good.
I whole heartedly recommend this game as something you have in your library, always installed, for when you wanna shoot things for a few minutes. Its a 10/10 for me because STD knows what it is and Levi is a chad. GG
this game is very funny, i really love the design and the history. thank you newgrounds for this little masterpiece.
I like this game
as a die hard isaac fan this scratched an itch most other roguelikes couldn't Pros: - cool trippy pixel art aesthetic - bangin music - good sound design - decent replayability and gameplay loop Cons: - can't angle your shots like in Isaac, and since you can only shoot left and right this can force you into taking unavoidable damage (had an item that gave me explosive shots and had to hit an enemy between two walls, ended up having to take a hit for it) epileptic fun for the whole family
i shot tripped and died i lov e thjis game
