I bought this in region Japan, but since I'm not very verse in Japanese, I'll write English here for the review. I think it's a very faithful implementation of the Shogi rules. I played it once with one of my friends in Tokyo, I was a little confused about the rule since it's so different from the Chinese chess, or Xiangqi in Mandarin. The resurrection rule of the game looks amazing, it can checkmate you with such an unexpected way. I think to win this game, or say to end this game once and for all, the strategy requires to gradually get rid of the surrounded people of the king, and once the king is exposed, finish it quick. Such a wonderful game.

操作性が悪くおすすめできない

I have been looking for a decent alternative to classical chess for a long time, and this game has fully met my expectations. The controls are intuitive, the graphics are pleasant, and the gameplay is exciting. I am very happy with the purchase!

You want shogi this'll do it but its definitely needs a tutorial not just a rule book

I see it is possible using board setup to play games with handicaps. A welcome addition would be allowing a handicap to be chosen during setup. This would allow weaker players to play against stronger levels. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handicap_(shogi) Strong players can also improve their play using handicaps when playing weaker players. I still stand by previous review. This program is a good value. The levels seem to increase in difficulty quickly. Level 1 is extremely easy, but only less than two percent of players have defeated level 4. Traditional Shogi mating problems require the use of all pieces in hand. Many books in Japanese exist filled with tsume Shogi problems. It does not require that much kanji to be able to benefit from such books.

This game gave me an incredible immersion into Japanese culture. The unique mechanic of returning pieces to the board adds interest and strategic depth. Every move tells a new story and presents a challenge!
