Played On: HTC Vive
Shinrin-yoku: Forest Meditation and Relaxation is just what it sounds like, a game that is designed for meditative and relaxation purposes. Players are placed in the middle of a forest, with the ability to change the day and night cycles at will, all the while observing animals and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. There's not a whole lot to say about this game, but the graphics are stunning; they're some of the most realistic visuals that I have had the pleasure of seeing in a virtual reality setting. It shows just how far we've come with this relatively new technology. There's no doubt that I felt like I was actually in a real forest. The full surround of crisp sounds also helped to capture the immersion. On the grand scale, Shinrin-yoku: Forest Meditation and Relaxation is best viewed as a well-crafted tech demo. There's not a whole lot to do in the game, other than poke a frog with a stick, watch a moose saunter by, and shine a flashlight on an owl. Due to the lack of interactive subject matter in the game, I'm not able to readily recommend it. As far as the "relaxation" aspect goes, it's just okay; some soothing rain, a thunderstorm, and the ability to navigate around the forest a little more would be a much welcomed addition.
Rating: 2.5/5.0 - It's not awful, but it's not great.
The VR Network Curator | Group Click for More The developer provided a free copy of this game for review, through The VR Network's Curation page.

Very relaxing, when you need to abide by the Real and cruel world out there, just sit there, doing a J, or just doing nothing, watching that frog pass by... maybe make that frog smoke a J? nahh... let it live. This is free, not really a game, but it is what it says it is, a nice place to just sit down and relax. Some of you will say: “Yeah, well, you know, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.” Indeed my friend. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ;-)
Experienced this on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers, you have to do a Windows 7 compatability fix to get it to run correctly, otherwise you'll be below ground
So this is a very beautiful looking day and night VR environment. Really nice visuals. Nice ambient sounds. Very limited interactions. The night sky looked like maybe they ran out of money, because everything else looked very good. This app is free so I do recommend it. Just keep in mind what you're downloading ... a free VR detailed environment. That's it. The interactions are minimal. You can relax and just enjoy the view and sounds.
额 ……免费游戏,其实不好意思给差评,但是宣传图和游戏的落差 巨 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~大 所以还是给个差评吧。免得让人再受这样的打击,让大伙有个心理准备 。
Shinrin-yoku: Forest Meditation and Relaxation 10 из 10
It's free, so I recommend this as a simple scenery experience. It looks pretty. It's only a single scene with a day mode and night mode, and the night mode is kinda not as awesome to me. Again, it's free, so try it out sometime, if VR scenery interests you.
short demo of forest in day and night. good graphics and its free. why not?
NOPE. It's a waste of time, the graphics are not that good and it's boring. 2/10 rating.
Shinrin-yoku: Forest Meditation and Relaxation is a free VR experience game. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Maybe you could use it for meditation. Has a night and day mode. CONS: Does Not work with Meta Quest 3 via Steam Link, crashes to desktop with error report. Try it and delete it.
