I actually did a trailer for this game way back when I was doing paid editing work. The bit of the game I did get to play was fantastic and I'm happy to support this game in anyway, especially now that it's free!
Its a very fun and simple game. Its a good game to play with friends using steam link.
It's extremely hard.
Note: Dead multiplayer game This game contains no meaningful single player content. There's no players, no populated servers. This multiplayer-only game cannot be played as intended.
This was an extremely poorly made ninja themed 2D retro platformer... you know, that old dead genre. There's 17,000 platformers on Steam (I am not making that up, check for yourself) and this was one of the worst of them, with the multiplayer focus taking the front seat before creating real content. I guess creating content is hard. The game featured both PvP and co-op modes, none of which went viral (the game was a complete flop, check the player counts below). The "pick up shurikens" and rope swing mechanics didn't add anything to the old, stale, dead, and boring platformer game focus. So, Shinobi Bad Buddies is a dead multiplayer game. Why did it fail? It's video game autopsy time! The chief cause of failure is the developer thinking that their game will "go viral" without actually creating any reason for it do so. Competition amongst multiplayer centric games is extreme, and there's only a finite player base to appeal to. This game failed to reach any kind of critical mass and died as a result. Let's go into some of the reasons this particular game failed to appeal to gamers, despite the zero up front cost. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs and the latest 3D graphics cards to play 2D games. Even mobile phones and game consoles can do 3D graphics now. There's no excuse. This game is fairly dated at 7 years old... it's showing a bit of age and won't give you a very up-to-date gaming experience. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $5 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. It's also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who paid money for this... nobody got refunded. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 5 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
Excelente joguinho!
This game is fun to play with frineds and just to have fun but sometimes there is a bug where i can double jump 50 times into the air and no one can catch me and also that when i die sometimes i cant respawn and my body is just laying there in the middle of the match. Also no matter how good you are at punching the bots can still hit you easily. But still very good game and the story mode is amazing!
