14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.71/day in the week to Aug 10 → 2.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 20 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10.5 places towards #1, and the 2,491 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A fantastic jrpg from the ps2 era, and what I would argue is mechanically the most intricate and enjoyable version of this combat system in the entire series. HOWEVER, if you are playing this just for the base game, I would highly recommend playing the ps2 version instead as there are several dialogue changes I feel take away from the game's atmosphere. The main selling point with this title at least for me personally is the modding support this version has over the ps2 version as well as a few quality of life things like being able to suspend your gamestate instead of needing to get to a save point to stop playing and being able to manually select inherited demon skills during fusion. Anyway! there's some great mods to check out with this release like the graphics configurator mod that allows the game to run at 60fps or higher as well as disabling bloom and enabling custom resolutions. There's high quality model render mods like the demifiend from smt 5 one that gives you the incredible render that appears in smt 5 and imo looks a lot better than the one we got in this remaster. And the last one I want to mention is the Insaniax mod which was the main reason I got this game in the first place. It's a gameplay overhaul mod that turns this game into something entirely different and is the spiritual successor to the Hardtype ROM hack from the original ps2 release. Anyway!! this game is great, I would recommend both this release and the original ps2 game depending on what you're looking for.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 25: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I've craved for more SMT 3 and decided to try out the insaniax mod and really loving it, so trhowing my 2 cents here. Pour l'avis en Français, c'est le 2éme paragraphe. J'étais en manque de SMT 3 et décider d'essayer le mod Insaniax et j'adore, donc je balance mes 2 centimes ici. Insaniax mod makes the game more interesting to experiment with and.... "balanced". Do be careful starting a new game with the mod and avoid starting a regular ng then mod it otherwise.... well I wasted 4H with base stats against the tutorial so do avoid getting the same treatment I had.
eh to short games and not really hard
A very unique game experience. "Should you play it ??" Short Answer: if you like turn-based JRPGs or are a MegaTen/Persona Fan: *YES* if you are unsure or unfamiliar with the ATLUS franchises. SMT-III is a landmark franchise entry and at its core a creature-collector turn-based RPG. You assemble a cast of Demons - basically your Pokemon - that each have 8 skill slots (this includes passives, support, damage etc.) a set of stats and Strengths/Weaknesses (Affinities), if you're thinking "hey that sounds like Pokemon" you are correct, except the demon statistics get fairly more complex. You the Player Character (called the Demi-Fiend) also have combat statistics however, what your stats, affinities and skills look like is for you to customize. The turn based combat might also feel familiar to Pokemon in that you are targeting enemy weaknesses however both the number of participants and the mechanics of combat make it -you guessed it- more complex. The short answer is that missing an attack or having it nullified subtracts turns from you, by the same token, hitting a weakness or critical gives you extra turns, so your player knowledge and tactics will always be the key factor of success ( spamming Attack to win is not very viable for any important encounter) Finally, and most importantly, all these mechanics are tested in a very atmospheric, visually striking game-world. Most of the game's dungeons are visually distinct, aesthetically striking and accompanied by an excellent soundtrack. You the Player Character must fight for your survival in a world that has become the battleground for the soul of the new world to come, it can feel lonely, daunting and often hopeless. There are 6 possible endings you can work towards, as long as you adopt some healthy habits (like manually saving often, as there are no autosaves) and ensuring you and your roster of demons is prepared and in good condition, you'll have a good time. Give this old classic a try PS: Dante from DMC is also there so as far as I'm concerned, *PEAK*
daisoujou can have my babies
I'm sad more SMT games are not available on modern platforms. This game has a sense of style and atmosphere that is still feels cool. It is challanging but if you pay attention and prepare for fights it is doable, at least when the RNG gods are not trying to be mean. The biggest down side is the "HD" remaster itself. It is only worth it on sale. $50 for 30 fps and compressed PS2 audio is too much. Also you need to pay an extra $10 for the maniax pack which is the version with Dante that you actually want to play. I do still want Atlus to remaster/port more of the older SMT games, I just hope they decide to put in more effort for a reasonable price.
If you had the chance to re-create the world would you do it? If you had the strenght and power to make the world anew... Even if that means the destruction of the world as we know it? Ladies and gentlemen, i bid you welcome to the world of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, one of the best turn-based JRPGs of the PS2 era, brought back to us by Atlus in the shape of a PC port for Steam. In this game we will be playing as the "Demi-Fiend", a human who gained demon powers in the eve of an apocalyptic event known as "The Conception". With our newly won powers, we will set foot on this accursed land, now inhabited by cruel demons and the tormented souls of what once was the humanity, and with the help of the demons captivated by our potential and strenght, we will search for the answer of why the world has become the nightmare that is now, and of our true nature as a being that is both a human and a demon, until the time of the truth come, and the decision of what is going to happen to the world will be left in our hands... what will you choose? Creating a new world? Leave the chaos rule the world forever? Return the world to its original form? The decision is all yours. This game is infamous for its difficulty, which i can describe as challenging to say the least (It will get easier as you get used to the game mechanics and you learn to master the battle system), and of course, because of its uniqueness, being a JRPG that departs from the conventional middle ages world of magic and fantasy, this game is set on the modern world, and its lore is heavily build more in occultism and esotherism rather than magic and fantasy, giving it a sort of sinister, desolated ambient. My experience with this game has been rewarding, ever since the very first time i played it on PS2 emulator for Android and now that i had the pleasure to buy it and play it here on Steam, i personally love everything about it. Although grindy and maybe a little unfair, this game deeply touched my heart for many reasons, specially all that was story-related, though many differ in this aspect for some reason, the central theme of the game and the clash among the ideologies of what the world should become was incredible. 8,5/10 - FREEDOM FOREVER!
just play it that is what i have to say
