Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.71/day in the week to Aug 10 → 2.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Yes, the port feels like a lazy cash grab (most likely is). But, install the 60fps & HD audio mods and you have yourself the best version of Nocturne imho. Can confirm the aforementioned mods work well on Steam Deck.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 25: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I want to preface this by saying that SMT3 is a fantastic JRPG, with a great story, and the hardest game in the franchise its praise is well warranted. The confusing thing is at this moment copies of SMT3 for PS2 can be found in listings as low as $15 at Gamestop. At some point you have to question if ATLUS realizes this games worth. It is an extremely outdated game, it's 20 years old and the design elements show. The HD remake did not do much to improve these QOL issues. When this game was originally ported to PC all music files in the game were corrupted and required you to install them to the file directory. Luckily this is fixed now but even at that time this game was selling for $50 on Steam. Even a PS2 emulator with HD textures can do better than ATLUS (at least in an emulator you can increase the ingame speed with the amount of walking and dying you do). They should have at least fixed some QOL issues with SMT3. ATLUS has a history of creating fantastic JRPGs, but ATLUS and SEGA (by extension) find it acceptable to release a port of SMT3 in this state at this price point. If you're a game collector you're better off buying a physical copy of the PS2 version and running it on emulator or native hardware. If you think this game is worth $10 less than SMT5 or Persona 5 you're mistaken. ATLUS wants to rob you, just buy a pre-owned game.
ATLUS I'm begging you, please remaster the Digital Devil Saga games
Not the best port but got this for half-off so no complaints. Definitely mod it, the 60+ fps mod + uncompressed audio mods highly recommended. Game as a whole holds up tons in terms of gameplay + story. I only played this game once on PS2 and always wanted to give it another go. One of the more brutal SMT's, I do prefer SMTIV and STMV over it but loved this game for being the 1st 3D Megaten game. I never suggest this game to people new to Megaten games, do Persona 3 or 4 first. Then check out SMTV.
Atmosphere and vibe of the game hits diff when you're in a depression episode
When you try to get the cute girls to join your party they demand money 3 times, honestly the most realistic game i've ever played 10/10
why does a ps2 game have Denuvo
The game is good and this is more of a neutral review due to the quality of this remaster, however Steam does not give you this option so I have to give this one a negative rating. Personal advice: Set in-game brightness to -2 and contrast to +3, that makes the game look close to how it looks on my calibrated CRT playing the PS2 version. These setting work great on my VA monitor, slightly different values could work better on your display. On default the game is too bright with washed out colors and lighting. Combining this with the resolution mod set to 4K internal resolution + MSAA 4x mod, this makes the game look very good in my opinion. Now to the actual review: The game is good, especially if you are into turn based RPGs. If you love Persona games I'm sure you will love Nocturne. However this is probably the most low effort remaster I have ever played, and the fact they are asking 70€ for the whole package is just insane to me. The internal resolution is very low. On my 1440p screen and highest settings, it seems the game renders at 1080p or maybe even 720p resolution, it looks bad. You can fix it via mod, but you shouldn't have to, especially at steep price as this, thus the negative rating. This port doesn't even have anisotropic texture filtering. The audio quality is very low, it sounds compressed. It sounds bad at first, personally I got used to it and don't notice it anymore while I play. The game runs at 30FPS, and while this isn't a problem for me in a game like this, especially this old, it may be a deal breaker to some. Can be tweaked via mod as well. Right controller joystick never works after booting up the game, unless you Alt+Tab once, then it works for some reason. However it's not all that bad. Compared to the PS2 version, they added Japanese and English voice-overs and the UI has been reworked into high resolution. Get it on deep discount.
