I won't lie, the game is mad janky in so many ways, but I also kinda like janky games. Dev is massively involved in patching and updating, and actually responds on the Discord Lots of fun, great community, really excited to see how it continues to develop Coop is a blast
OK, this is the first few hours after purchasing the full game. I did play the playtest and was sufficiently impressed so that I decided to invest in the game. I love the general theme, game mechanics, and ease of play. The tutorial was easy to follow and short. Merely showing you the very basics and giving a simple introduction to the world and attendant story. The are plenty of bugs at this point. Playing coop leads to inventory glitches, vendor issues, mission errors, and literally driving the wheels off of vehicles. None detract enough to ruin the fun and as a freshly released early access title by a solo developer, I don't mind these issues in the least. For the price point I highly recommend, to any fans of the genre, snapping this little gem up and grabbing a friend for some laughs. ~salute
Short Answer: This game has a lot of potential, and I had fun playing it by myself and with someone else. Long Answer: After the tutorial, the game starts you out at the beach in the beginning, and every time you die, you'll revive there until you craft a sleeping bag and place it elsewhere. The game has a gear score system, but I'm not too sure on how much weight it has when it comes to bosses, as I got to the requirement or just passed it naturally (without really trying). Pay attention to the stats on guns, because some guns do more damage than others, even if it's the same gun and quality. The game does have an experience share function, but I'm pretty sure it's based on how much damage every player contributes. The game says the endgame starts after the story, but at the time of this review, there doesn't seem to be anything to do but grind towards level 50. With all that said, I see myself playing this game for a great while. The developer has shown the game love and is working on it continuously and is very active on Discord. I very much looked forward to how this game grows.
:)
Hello all, I played in the testing phase and liked how solid the game play was. So when the game was released I bought it, and have not regretted my purchase at all. And from what I am seeing, I will be playing it for some time. Thanks for all the work put into Shatterland.
It's a bit like Surrounded, but not as fun...
It isnt finished in my opinion! very unpolished and story tutorial direction would be lackluster for most. I love a lot about it tho. But I really wish loot did not respawn on reboot, or potentially ever. Makes me feel like all of my scavenging was for nothing at all. Also a bummer there doesnt seem to be anything in the way of a death penalty. Maybe we will get a more hardcore mode some day. Rest well dev
