Shatter is basically a modern remix of Arkanoid, same brick-breaking addiction, with a soundtrack that sounds like it escaped from a 70s disco party. If you played the original, this will hit you right in the nostalgia. The “story mode” (yes, breaking bricks now has a story) runs through about 10 levels with bosses and can be wrapped up in under 3 hours. The bosses are actually the highlight: a bit of trial and error, a bit of “oh, that’s how you beat it,” and then it’s done. Once you crack them, though, replay value drops pretty fast. There are a couple of extra modes to keep you busy for a while, and the soundtrack genuinely carries the experience, seriously, the beats are better than your paddle skills. Final verdict: short, stylish, and nostalgic. A solid 6/10, worth it on sale for a few hours of brick-smashing therapy.
