Shatter Keep is an asymmetrical multiplayer game where 3 survivor players try to escape the castle and 1 player attempts to eliminate them. Survivors must complete a list of objectives to open the castle exits while arming traps, lighting torches and avoiding the monster before the timer expires.

I really like the concept of this game. The killer is fun to play and feels really satisfying when you hunt down your friends, and survivor gameplay is tense for that exact reason. The game has it's issues though. Although scenery goes transparent when walking near it, open doors remain opaque, and standing behind them completely hides your character model, which is one of the only ways to truly avoid the monster. This is counter intuitive to the intended design, as closing doors are one of the only ways to slow down the monster, however, the door is destroyed when the monster slashes it. It becomes apparent it's much better to hide your model behind open doors, rather than close it and risk losing it. The task milestones, while being set randomly at the start of the level, also become a problem if the monster figures out which one the milestones needs to be finished, all living players have to complete the milestone before you can move on. If the monster catches a player doing that milestone, they can just camp it preventing the other two from finishing it. Players that are knocked down usually die 9 times out of 10. When a player is knocked down, the monster takes their soul and has to deliver it to a soul well (That may not be the correct name) After a brief interaction, the player dies unless other players revive them before that happens. The problem is that there are multiple souls wells, and it's not much of a walk to them. Even if players immediately leave their task and sprint to their friend. Their friend usually dies. I like the sound in the game, the monster has chains that make noise while it moves, allowing players to know whether it is close. Although, it can be hard to gauge just how close he actually is. The monster can also use this and the scenery to their advantage by standing still to stop the chains rattling and waiting for a survivor to pass you, which can be really humorous to see them panic. Monster traps are somewhat good. Bear traps immobilise the monster. Tripwires invert the controls for the monster, which after adjusting, isn't really an issue. Overall, the game is fun, and is really enjoyable to play in a call with friends. It would really benefit from updates that add replay value and some balancing to make life a little easier for survivors.

At its current state I cannot recommend this. -The Monster is way too overpowered, making the survivors utterly helpless -Playing the objective is not made very clear -The QTE buttons don't punish you so you can just button mash -it is not very clear wether you have to hold a button or click it (maybe add some additional animations?) -Dropping a soul off is way too simple with the locations being quite numerous (IMO) -the overhead controls aren't very pleasant I am interested where this game goes though, so I'll keep it in my library and look forward to future updates
fun. cool project
O jogo é bom porém, o ping alto atrapalha muito. Uma atualização top seria na host, adicionando uma em cada país. As vezes o ping fica tão alto que o caçador consegue te atacar do outro lado da sala. -BUG- O player morto consegue usar 2 traps.
Bro monster is selected at random my ass. My friend got monster 10 out of 11 times. Still solid fun
I really like this game so far. A classic hunter vs. survivors in a 4 player co-op game where the hunter is a Wendigo-like monster who hunts and kills the 3 survivors. The survivors have a main goal of completing tasks around the maze-like map to collect the 3 objects shown in-game and unlock 2 out of 4 exits on the edges of the map to escape. Unfortunately there are some downsides like no online multiplayer and regional issues when joining someone who is not in the same region as you. Therefore, I believe this game is best played with your own friends to get the best experience.
It's good with a group of friends, no online matchmaking so you NEED a group of 4, no more no less, there's some bugs allowing you to get out of the map, if you get stuck out there your team will lose. It's a dead by daylight style game but the survivors get traps to slow the killer down, cos hes quicker than you, he has cool abilities, but overall I feel like the killer is severely underpowered and the survivors will win more times than not. :)
