endless/random chess-like puzzler with pixel graphics and okay music. rotate attack direction with right click before placing pieces on a board with left click. different units have varying amounts of health and different attack patterns, always dealing a single damage. only opposite colors can attack each other. the next piece is shown on the left, clicking it shows its attack area and it's a toggle, can stay up throughout the level. once the bomb meter fills up, accelerated by combo kills, the next placeable will be an explosive one, destroying everything of the opposite color in its radius. special pieces offer a limited-time challenge when destroyed. the reward (shards, points and a bomb boost) and remaining turns are always visible in the corner but the actual goal is only revealed again by clicking there and this one isn't a toggle even though there's plenty of space on the right. challenges are optional, no punishment, only reward, but starting a new one cancels the current one. the game ends once the entire board is filled. there's an interactive tutorial explaining all this and a surprising amount of customization, done in the most annoying way. instead of spending shards on whatever you want (music, ambiance, backgrounds, tiles and pieces), you have to spin a 'whell' for 10 shards, wait for it to stop and hope it lands on something. reset is expensive but gets cheaper as more items on the current wheel are claimed, or free when it's all empty. separate volumes, windowed mode toggle for a non-resizable window, so it's useless, plus a couple of languages, a contrast slider and a show seed toggle make up the settings, only accessible from the main menu. that's also where a seed can be entered for a specific level. final score doesn't count in this case, not sure why. there's a stats/leaderboard screen as well. a static background toggle would've been nice, to stop all the clouds and whatnot from moving, and a confirmation for abandoning a level.
