About
Awakened within a shifting labyrinth, you and your fellow heroes must survive a brutal gauntlet of monsters and magic. Watched by an arcane entity known only as The Eye, you will fall, rise, and grow stronger with every attempt. Can you forge a party powerful enough to escape?
Shadowstone is a tactical roguelite built around what your heroes can do together. Every ability sets up someone else's, so a run is won by the combinations you find.

Take command of multiple heroes solo, or band together with up to 4 players in online multiplayer. Mastering the strengths and weaknesses of different party compositions is what keeps you alive against the horrors shrouded in shadowstone power.

Deliberate positioning and manipulation of elements in each encounter is core to the turn-based tactical gameplay of Shadowstone. Survival hinges on utilizing your hero's unique skills such as using the Witch's ability to duplicate healing and exploding mushrooms or the Berserker's charge to displace enemies into dangerous lava.

Build overpowered synergies by upgrading and selecting complementary spells across your heroes. Execute complex multi-hero ability combinations to devastate enemy monsters, whether you command the party yourself or split it with friends. Build your party of 2 to 4 heroes from a roster of 8 at launch.

Each escape attempt from the labyrinth throws a different set of rooms and monsters at you. Adapt your strategy every run through an evolving pool of skill cards, talismans, and potions, and balance the light against the dark: powerful rituals against the creeping corruption of the shadowstone. Leaning into the darkness makes your party stronger, but the corruption stays with you.

This one is not in the game yet, but it is where we want to take it. We started Secret Door to build a new way to play games together: allowing players to use their phones to control the action while the game plays out on the main screen, so they can be physically together in person. Our first game, Sunderfolk, was built that way, and our intention is to bring it to Shadowstone. It will not be there at Early Access launch, because building with a single control set lets us iterate much faster. Couch co-op is planned as we move from Early Access toward 1.0. Until then, Shadowstone plays with mouse and keyboard.
Build the party. Find the combination. Escape the labyrinth.
