About
Shadows of the Ruins is a 2D Roguelike–Survivor videogame developed by InTheNight Games indie studio. The game experience combines exploration, fast-paced combat, and resource management in a hostile and dynamic environment.

"We live in a dangerous world. Although the Evil Empire fell more than a century ago, the Age of Light that was promised to us never arrived. Instead, we live in absolute misery... We are poor, the soil is completely dead and there are no animals left to hunt either. It's over... We won't survive the next winter. There is only one alternative left: west of the village, there are Ruins from the old empire. According to the elders, inside lies a formidable treasure, guarded by traps, terrifying monsters and the Shadows of the empire's fallen army... But, if I find it, we won't starve... EVER AGAIN!!"

The player takes on the role of a young adventurer who ventures into the ancient ruins of a fallen evil empire in order to loot treasures and save their village from eternal poverty. You will encounter lots of different obstacles on the journey to find the legendary treasure that can save your village forever. From deadly squeletons to giant saws, you will have to make your way to the depths of the dungeon. But... Heads up! As you go forward, an infinite wave of tormented souls called "The Horde" relentlessly pursues you, making each second count... Eliminate enemies and Bosses, dodge traps, and solve puzzles as quick as you can before the horde catches up to you!

Each "dungeon run" is unique thanks to the procedural generation of the Rooms.
Explore 4 types of Danger Rooms in the dungeon: Enemy Rooms, Traps Rooms, Puzzle Rooms and Boss Rooms.
Discover up to 30+ different and varied rooms, full of a great variety of monsters, traps and puzzles. All of them mixed up with endless combinations of possible dungeons!
Level Up! Obtain experience points from defeated monsters and level up to choose a characteristic charm each time, each one promoting a particular style of play.
Strengthen yourself! When defeated or fleeing the dungeon, use the treasures you have collected to purchase mystical upgrades in the shop.

One crucial key lies in how you manage your treasures, which serve both as currency for upgrades and as a healing resource. Will you decide to flee in order to invest your earnings to strengthen yourself? Or will you risk everything to keep moving forward in search of greater rewards? Will you be able to find the legendary treasure? And most important of all...

A short but fun roguelike game that is quite challenging at the start, but once you get a few upgrades, you’ll have a much easier time getting through the dungeon. Overall, a commendable first game — I found it quite enjoyable, and the developers have done a solid job.
I'm not a roguelike survivor kind of girl, but I was asked to try this one out and it definitely left a good impression on me. At least at the moment I couldn't make it to the end, i'm bad at playing:v but I'LL KEEP TRYING FOR SURE! Very proud of the team, I know what an effort they made along the journey and I think that it beeing the work of students it's really WELL MADE it sure keeps you on guard and tense and you have to keep alert if you want to win!

Nice short roguelike game. It was kinda difficult at the beginning and if you take too long it's easy to get overwhelmed by the enemies. Overall it's a great first game.
I loved this game!! It's super fun and really difficult. Loved the mob of zombies that chase you down.
Mucha suerte :)
Typical AI trash with no post-processing.
Really enjoyable short roguelike. Would be better with some polishing, specially the hitboxes which felt a little weird. Besides that, the movement and aiming feels smooth and agile. With some more features and a little bit of lore expansion I think it could make a really good fully fledged game.
