Shadow Of Nebula —

Shadow of Nebula is Bisonia’s Steam Early Access point & click adventure game. It’s a game that has me very excited for its future. I haven’t really played an old school style point and click adventure that left me in awe for a very long time so to see this game having this effect on me is more than a little surprising. I honestly believe that this game, if development goes according to plan, make it onto our Steamified Select and then Steamified Countdown after its release. I’m a huge fan and thoroughly impressed. Thus far there is about three to four hours worth of content here. The most important standard features of a point and click adventure game are very well represented here. The puzzles are logical and extremely well designed. The story itself is so far fascinating although I feel that I am not deep enough into it yet for it to even start pulling all of it together. The dialogue between characters as well as that between the game (main character) and the player is above average. The art work and the sound are strong enough to aide the immersion process. It’s just a very well rounded product. And that’s without ever considering the intelligent innovation that is, for me, the absolute highlight feature of Shadow of Nebula. Intelligent innovation in adventure games, especially point & click adventure games, do not come around often. When they do the game captures my attention. I believe that is what Bisonia have absolutely accomplished with what they are billing as their CyberSpace parallel world game. Early on in the game you get to create the pieces of a CyberSpace scanner. With this scanner you can scan the various people that you meet. The people that you meet early in the game have all had their real life brains scrambled. They have become mentally handicapped due to overdosing on drugs. However, a miracle happens when you successfully complete the scanning mini game. You enter your portal and visit their scanned address. You are able to speak with them through CyberSpace. Imagine if someone was brain dead in reality and you were able to speak to them as if everything was normal in a physical Internet chatroom. That’s what the CyberSpace parallel world game allows you to do. Not only is it innovative but it’s a fantastic feature that really allows the game to push through important story elements. It’s this feature and the way in which everything demonstrates that this is a passion project by gamers for gamers that has me thoroughly impressed at this stage of development. At $4.99 Shadow of Nebula is an outright steal. When all of the content is added you’re going to be thankful for purchasing it during early access and if not then sorry that you missed out at this price point. Looks cool, music suites the atmosphere, there even some pixel-hunting,story feels intrigue. There are some glitchy lines on loading screen, also encrypted key looks too blury...well nothing critical. Always glad to see new sky-fi quest.
No updates.... ??? Other reviews seem fake? Buyer beware.
When I was a kid I liked playing titles like Monkey Island, all Sierra Games (Police Quest, Kings Quest, Leisure Suit Larry etc.). I stopped playing for many years, couldn't find good game for me, until now. This game brings back my memories and remind me my childhood. Beautiful art, a lot of very intelligent puzzels to solve, good music and addictive gameplay. Couldn't stop when started. Good work guys! Waiting for more!!! Hope You will not finish on this title. I'd like to see more advanture games from Your studio when I will finish with this one!
I really enjoyed this! Full Video Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYMJYvmNzH0
This game is a brilliant example of how the lack of funding can destroy a game with so much potential. I just finished playing it and I felt quite sad when I saw that it's probably not going to full version. Please Devs, let us know if it's going to be otherwise. Okay, the game has some flaws (it's early access after all) but it has a soul, as the devs say. They gave as much as they could give since funding has been a problem of the whole project. The Good Very nice graphic style. In my eyes they're exactly as old classics would look like had they been made in 2017. Not the cartoon-style recent remakes use but neither a very realistic style. They're very detailed and very, very well made. This also means that there are many items to click on the background which don't actually do anything to help you go on but they give you background information to get you more into the game. The soundtrack fits the story and the place perfectly. It's a bit repetitive but that's all. Very nice depressive composition. The story itself is not something unique in game history but any Sci-Fi/Cyberpunk fan will get hooked. The riddles. Some are very easy, some are normal and some just require much searching. The really bad Lack of funding... The "not so bad"/neutral Some typos here and there. The dialogues are too extensive for my taste. Also some phrases don't seem natural. I guess a native English speaker could help. It would be better if the inventory was placed at any edge of the screen (top/bottom/left/right) so it would come out just by taking the mouse pointer to that place. Right now you need to right click to see the inventory which appears in the middle of the screen. In some places it's difficult to find a place which isn't a hot-spot to right-click so you can't easily open the inventory. There's no voice acting. But then again neither the classics had one... If I'd make a parallelism it would be this one. The devs knew they couldn't afford a Lamborghini so they went for a FIAT. And they maintain it, keep it clean an shiny while the Lambo would be spare parts already due to the lack of maintenance (see Syberia 3). But it seems they're out of petrol... Those 6 hours I played the game definitely deserve my 5€
Hidden gem for sure. Comparable to Technobabylon(awesome game) and Primordia. Does a lot of stuff differently and in more creative ways than other point and click games. More people should play this game if you are a fan of the genre. Thumbs Up
