Despite game having overwhelmingly positive reviews there must be always a grain of salt to balance out the flavor. First of all gameplay is decent and remind of Aragami where player can dash between shadows while diving under the surface. Game lack general polish, like better animations, bad AI and of course buggy nature but nothing game breaking. Soundtrack is good. Narration a bit bongos. Game is super short and can be completed in 15 minutes. Overall play if you like stealth games, but keep in mind there're better stealth games like Aragami.
An extremely short but extremely awesome stealth game. The story doesn't really make that much sense. You're playing as a woman who, for some unknown reason, can possess shadows, shapeshift into a shadow and speak with ghosts and your missions is simple: find stuff that was stolen from her dead brother, who speaks with her through the whole game from the afterlife (who I assume got murdered by the mafia that stole his goods, in the first place). In fact, I think the shadow - and all it's powers - could be her brother's. But why? When? How? The player never gets an answer, which is disappointing but still on par with the noir setting, which is mysterious. The graphics, the soundtrack and the artstyle really get the job done in setting that film noir mood, further. And the voice-acting is also pretty well done, with some VA's delivering their best italian from New York accent. Honestly, this short experience REALLY needs to become a full-fledged game. Only two levels is crimminal.

Shadow Burglar is a stealth-focused adventure that builds its identity around the clever use of darkness, supernatural abilities, and a revenge-driven narrative. Developed by Ghostly Productions and published by UQAT – Création et nouveaux médias, the game introduces players to Jean, a skilled thief whose mission extends beyond ordinary burglary. She is determined to recover a priceless collection of paintings stolen from her late brother and uncover the people responsible for his fate. Set within an alternate vision of post-war London during the 1920s, the game blends historical inspiration with fantasy elements, creating a setting where crime, political unrest, and mystery naturally complement its stealth-oriented gameplay. Instead of relying on traditional sneaking mechanics alone, Shadow Burglar introduces powers that fundamentally change how players approach each mission. Jean possesses the ability to merge with shadows, allowing her to slip through narrow spaces, bypass heavily guarded routes, and remain concealed from enemies. She can also manipulate nearby darkness to create opportunities that would otherwise be impossible, encouraging players to think creatively instead of simply following preset paths. These supernatural mechanics are tightly connected to the game's environments, making light and shadow essential tools rather than decorative visual effects. The stealth gameplay rewards patience and planning over aggressive action. Enemy patrols require observation, while security systems and environmental hazards encourage players to carefully evaluate every situation before moving forward. Although Jean is capable of using shadow-based attacks to eliminate opponents, the game consistently favors silent infiltration and strategic movement. Choosing when to avoid enemies, distract them, or quietly remove obstacles becomes an important part of each mission, giving players multiple ways to accomplish their objectives without forcing a single solution. Level design is one of the game's strongest qualities because it consistently supports experimentation. Each location contains alternate entrances, hidden passages, elevated routes, and environmental puzzles that encourage exploration. Players who thoroughly examine their surroundings will often discover safer or more efficient ways to reach valuable targets. The interaction between lighting and Jean's abilities adds another layer of depth, since changing environmental conditions can completely alter the safest path through a level. This freedom keeps missions engaging while rewarding curiosity and careful observation. Visually, Shadow Burglar captures a distinctive atmosphere through its use of dramatic lighting and shadow contrast. The stylized interpretation of 1920s London successfully balances historical architecture with supernatural influences, resulting in environments that feel mysterious without abandoning their historical foundation. Dimly lit streets, lavish interiors, and secret passageways all contribute to the game's immersive presentation. The visual design also serves a practical purpose, as players constantly rely on shadows to navigate safely, making the aesthetic inseparable from the gameplay itself. The narrative provides additional motivation by centering on Jean's personal journey rather than simple treasure hunting. Recovering her brother's stolen artwork represents both an emotional quest and an opportunity to expose the criminal network responsible for his death. Historical references woven throughout the campaign, along with collectible lore and environmental storytelling, enrich the world without interrupting the pace of the adventure. While the revenge storyline follows familiar themes, the combination of supernatural abilities and historical fiction gives it enough personality to remain engaging. Sound design effectively reinforces the tension created by the stealth mechanics. Ambient effects, subtle musical compositions, and restrained audio cues build suspense without overwhelming the experience. Players often find themselves relying on environmental sounds to judge enemy positions and determine when it is safe to move. This understated approach enhances immersion and complements the slower, more deliberate pacing that defines the game. Shadow Burglar may not appeal to players looking for constant combat or fast-paced action, as its greatest strengths lie in careful planning, methodical exploration, and creative problem-solving. Those willing to embrace its deliberate pacing will find satisfying stealth encounters supported by flexible level design and imaginative supernatural mechanics. The combination of an intriguing historical backdrop, meaningful story, and innovative shadow-based gameplay allows the experience to stand apart from more conventional entries in the stealth genre. Rating: 9/10
Kısa süren sade hoş bir oyun olmuş daha uzun olsaydı dahada güzel olurdu.
A very nice game, took about half an hour, was very well made
