About

I'm the solo developer of Seeds of Calamity. I grew up playing Nintendo games and later fell in love with farming sims. I wanted to make the kind of game I'd love to play myself, blending cozy farming sim gameplay with dungeon crawling and turn-based combat. I hope it's something you'll enjoy!
In a quiet wayside village you’d pass by in a classic JRPG – you and your fluffy Spellbook Companion tend your farm, help the community, and explore dungeons filled with challenge and treasure.

Twenty years after the Great Calamity, the land is finally recovering. As a young adventurer, you’ll leave the bustling capital to settle in a quiet village on the frontier. Here, you’ll build a cozy farm, help your neighbors, and uncover the small joys of life in a world healing from its past.
Tend crops, raise animals, and craft tools to grow your farm through the seasons! Help rebuild by sending resources to the capital and supporting your community. Celebrate the post-Calamity world with festivals, from harvest feasts to moonlit gatherings.

Beyond the village, dungeons filled with enemies, bosses, and valuable resources become a key part of your journey. Turn-based combat feeds directly into your progression, unlocking new upgrades, systems, and ways to develop your farm.

The Spellbook Companion is your constant ally, guiding you through your journey. This magical friend helps you uncover hidden treasures, catalog recipes and quests, and even casts spells in battle. It’s more than a companion – it’s an essential part of your adventure.

Seeds of Calamity is designed with inclusivity in mind, featuring extensive accessibility options. Adjust controls, length of day, colors, difficulty, visuals, and more to ensure the game feels right for you.
Step into a world rebuilding from its past, one crop, friendship, and adventure at a time!

Hesitantly, I'll give it a positive because I always get addicted to farming sims no matter how many flaws they have. But I feel the need to be honest to others, if you like Stardew Valley and are debating on getting this, I wouldn't say there's enough of its own identity for it to be worth exploring. Creatively, I feel like there is a story wanting to be told, but it is either unfinished or just missing. The dungeon system is awesome in that it's something unique, but so extremely short that it feels so under-capitalized. There were so many more opportunities than that to be different when it comes to major gameplay elements, and yet the game just feels too much like it's struggling to copy SV. Why not lean into yourself more? And the very minor ways in which it is different leave you scratching your head half the time, such as removing relationships, and replacing practical skills like mining and woodcutting with niche ones like cooking and artifact hunting. On the other hand, I loved the uniqueness of the mini-games, the fishing, and bug-catching. But at the end of the day and over all else: What is the big idea and where is it? Where is the larger payoff that is justifying such a reduced and more streamlined experience?
Buen juego, lastima que no este en español.
I have quite enjoyed Seeds of Calamity! I look forward to it being continually updated. But as it currently is, it is fun! I really enjoy the dungeon combat combined with the Stardew feel. Some aspects are clunky but I don't mind since the game is young and the game is from an independent developer. I would like to see improvements made to the efficiency of aspects such as farm storage space, player speed, amount of quests able to be accepted at one time, and inventory space. Overall, I recommend!
Only 3 tasks can be simultaneously in process?😅
