About
Sector Unknown - Prologue is a free introductory version of the full-game Sector Unknown.
Sector Unknown - Prologue is an immersive isometric RPG that draws inspiration from classics like Fallout 2, Knights of the Old Republic, Fallout: New Vegas, as well as more modern titles such as Wasteland 3, Encased, Colony Ship, Trudograd, and Pathfinder: Kingmaker. Every decision, every nuance in character development has tangible consequences. Alongside combat, the game equally emphasizes alternative strategies for progression, inviting players to leverage their character's unique abilities to navigate through the narrative creatively and diplomatically.
In Sector Unknown - Prologue, your saga begins as a prisoner aboard a transport ship from which you escape in a commandeered escape pod, crash-landing on Maku, a forsaken world veiled within a remote and uncharted region of space. This planet becomes the foundation of your odyssey as you convert it into a stronghold and base of operations. From there, you will set forth into space, exploring distinct worlds and locations, each teeming with its own factions and unique stories.
In your quest, you will confront the shadowy dealings of Star Frontier, the powerful mega-corporation that once imprisoned you. Operating unchecked in the hidden 'null sector'—now absent from all official star charts—Star Frontier has established a tyrannical reign of terror and destruction. Your mission becomes to unite the sector's backwater and forsaken planets, through either force or diplomacy, and overthrow their oppressive rule once and for all.
Sector Unknown - Prologue weaves themes of exploration, discovery, conflict and greed, crafting an epic tale of adventure and rebellion in the boundless expanse of space.
With the Prologue version of the game, the entire first planet of Maku will be available for players.
In Sector Unknown - Prologue, every choice you make shapes your journey. As you traverse through null sector, your interactions with characters and factions on each planet will uniquely influence the narrative. Your decisions determine not only the outcome of each planetary story arc but also the fate of the entire sector. From forging alliances to making tough moral choices, your path is yours to define. Whether through diplomacy, strategy, or combat, your story will unfold in a way that reflects your personal play-style and decisions, culminating in a truly bespoke gaming experience where you are the architect of your destiny.

Прям отчётливо словил те самые вайбы, словно играю в первый Фоллаут в 2003 году.
"Prologue", "Episode 0/1", "DEMO"....
All descriptions for the same thing: an incomplete game, released with it's own Store-Page Instead of releasing these ''demos'' on the same Store-page as their future title, they choose to have 2 store-pages instead of 1, hoping that this will ''increase their reach to a bigger audience'' - even if that goes at the cost of cluttering up the ''free to play'' tabs, making it harder to find actual GOOD F2P games. Worst part? Crypto-shell companies, Ai-slop farmers, triple-A studios and even good, honest - small indie devs are doing this. There are actual HARDWORKING DEVS out there who see this kind of sh!t, and come to the conclusion that the only way to compete, is to do the same scummy practice as the bigger, more popular fish out there! Be very careful with Sector Unknown - Prologue. It's a bit of a scam. Pay $20 bucks and only get the first planet - 6 hours all up of gameplay. Does not seem worth it. Game is actually quite decent - but were does it tell you how limited it is for the dollars? Prologue only goes a short way beyond the demo. BE AWARE !!
Sector Unknown – Prologue delivers an impressive and deeply engaging taste of what the full game has to offer — and even in this introductory slice, it already shines in many ways. Developed with remarkable passion, the Prologue is a free demo that manages to combine tactical combat, meaningful choices, and a rich narrative in a compact but satisfying experience. One of the game’s strongest appeals is its isometric, turn-based combat system. It’s tactical, thoughtful, and rewarding — not just about brute force, but also strategy and clever use of character skills. According to the developer, the Prologue offers “2–3 hours of content” with “deep reactivity, skill-gated dialogue and events” that give real weight to your decisions. The writing and world-building are also very solid. Starting as a prisoner crash-landed on the desolate planet Maku, you’re quickly thrown into an environment where alliances matter, power is scarce, and every choice can significantly alter your journey. This gritty, corporate-controlled universe feels alive and morally ambiguous, inviting players to explore and define their own path — whether through diplomacy, combat, or cunning. What’s especially impressive is that this project is largely a solo effort: the developer has spent years building modular systems, quests, and narrative arcs, and is clearly dedicated to refining the experience with player feedback. That level of devotion is rare and shows in every aspect — from skill checks, to branching events, to dynamic dialogue. Another plus: the Prologue is polished enough to feel like a real piece of the full game, not just a teaser. Player reviews on Steam are overwhelmingly positive. The system requirements are reasonable, ensuring that many players can try it without a high-end rig. In short, Sector Unknown – Prologue is a brilliant introduction to a promising indie sci-fi RPG. It captures the spirit of classic CRPGs while offering its own modern twist, and it’s well worth playing — especially because it’s free. For fans of tactical combat, narrative depth, and space exploration, this demo is a strong signal that the full game could be something very special.
I think, this game have a future
Мусор,конченая мертвая боевка. Если б я хотел в жэто играть,то , а за то,что до этого вс еигры без перевода- зеленый магазин. Но я втакой шлак и игратьн е буду
Excellent beginning for an idea RPG. It is very similar to Colony Ship though massively easier. But there are plenty of skill checks to overcome, many different paths to take to solve quests and a big evil corporation to thwart. Graphics are good enough for the job. Music is suitably atmospheric and the sound effects work well enough. All in all, a very promising start and worth the time to check out!
not totally done with the prologue but the story branches seem very cool!
