Seclusa

As a hobby photographer (wildlife & pets) myself, having this game to turn to when I can't get out or just to relax after my day job is awesome. If you're looking for something low-pressure to relax with, this is the game. The game is chill, cozy, the music is calming as are the ambient sounds. For once I found I'm not playing YouTube or a podcast in the background while gaming. Much care was put into designing the camera settings, the animal models, and the landscapes - even the water looks incredible. Not only that, but the devs are also responsive & helpful to boot, which adds a whole other layer of time and care being put into the game and its community. I'm excited to see what other animals are added in the future, and would be interested if - say - even other regions were added as DLC or something.

Was skeptical at first, but found myself enjoying it much more than I thought. I love admiring the animals in their different habitats. Also didn't know that it was a casual idle game aswell, but found myself very calm and relaxed while playing. Really needed that.

Maybe the most obvious appeal for Seclusa is if you are into photography. Which I am! It's particularly interesting to me as I am not usually a sandbox game player. I like having objectives or a narrative to follow for when I play games. But in this case, where the focus is one of my real life hobbies, it works! (As well as card collecting haha!) The game itself is gorgeous to look at, even when you aren't taking pictures! So if you're looking for a way to relax or pratice your photography composition, I would highly recommend it! Also, I found the puzzle minigame really satisfying and relaxing to do!

I honestly don't think I would recommend this game. It was fun. But there is quite a lot of waiting and I found it a bit boring. I think if you are really into photography, this game will be more suited. For me it was a little too much of the same. I could not find the telescope anywhere and just quit bc of it. I don't think I will play this game anymore.

This reminds me a lot of those games museums would have on guest computers. The ones off to the side to help demonstrate different principals. This one would be African Safaris and photography principles. It especially goes into depth on photography. This game has a lot of charm, allowing you to turn your pictures into puzzles, collect cards, or for just having on in the background. I especially love our little little kitty friend. If I were to have a complaint, it would be the fact that I would like more content, especially animals to photograph, as you can get through it fairly quickly. That said, the developers have done an excellent job and should be proud of themselves. And if you are thinking about getting this game. I would recommend it.

Beautiful, peaceful game about going on a photo safari for some of East Africa's most iconic fauna. There's a cat at the lodge you can pet and buy silly hats for, cards to collect, rare variants to search for, and puzzles to while away time while you're waiting for your bar to refill so you can take on another paying mission. You'll discover four of the famous "Big Five" (and the adorable Baby Five!) at locations around the wildlife reserve, one reptile (crocodile), a smattering of smaller animals such as the wild cat and pangolin, and a small cross-section of East Africa's rich bird population, including the Egyptian goose and the fish eagle. Once I got used to the controls for the camera drone, I had a lot of fun just zooming around experimenting with odd angles, lens effects, and filters. There is a gratifying selection of settings you can purchase and fiddle with for that ideal effect, including spotlighting (ideal for dramatic night shots against a sweeping sky full of stars), hue, tint, temperature, saturation (enabling dramatic black & white or sepia photos that look straight out of an old explorer's album), and even one that makes your photo look more like a painting. With luck, this lovely, chill game will get further updates and expansions. I'd love to see so much more of Africa's amazing wildlife (cheetahs! hyenas! ostriches! kudu! Cape buffalo! meerkats!) Absolutely worth the price if you're into photography, wildlife-watching, or seeing the kind of animals most of us only see in zoos roaming freely in their natural habitat.

Zusammenfassung Seclusa ist ein Casual-Spiel ohne große Aufregung. Man fotografiert in Afrika diverse Tiere, erweitert am Anfang recht schnell die erreichbaren Orte, die Kamera-Upgrades, kann bald die Umgebungsbedingungen einstellen und hat ein paar Mini-Games freigeschaltet. Die Tiere sind hübsch anzuschauen, aber im Wesentlichen war es das. Es ist also nicht nur einfach, sondern wirklich gemütlich. Das sollte man im Hinterkopf behalten, es hat einen überschaubaren "Spiel-"wert. Darüber hinaus funktioniert das aber gut. Das einzige was ich wirklich sehr schade finde: Man bewegt sich nicht, sondern hat seine "Fotospots", von denen man aus seine Kamera-Drohne schickt. Am Ende ist Seclusa eines der Spiele, die ein paar unterhaltsame Stunden vermittelt, dann aber doch bei den meisten Spielern recht schnell eingemottet wird. Ausführlich: Als "Fotografen" besuchen wir verschiedene Landschaften in Ostafrika. Dort haben wir unsere gemütliche "Picknick-Base", von der aus wir einige Tiere in der Umgebung beobachten können. Und fotografieren, wobei wir da quasi eine Foto-Drohne hinschicken. Dabei können wir die Kameraentfernung, die Brennweite (den Zoom) und die Blende (Tiefenschräfe) einstellen (alles natürlich spielerisch vereinfacht). Die Kameraführung erfordert - für ein casual-Spiel - ein wenig Gewöhnungszeit, ist dann aber einfach zu Bedienen. Spielerisch bietet "Seclusa" Aufträge ("Fotografiere dieses oder jenes Tier", ggf. mit Zusatzbedingungen), ein Sammelkartenspiel und Tages-Aufgaben, die sowohl Geld als auch Erfahrung. Beides erweitert letztlich die Spielmöglichkeiten, sei es durch den Kauf von Kamera-Upgrades oder das Freischalten anspruchsvollerer Aufgaben oder das direkte Auswählen von Wetter und Tageszeit, und - ganz wichtig - ein paar Mini-games (einfaches Puzzeln, einfaches Memory und irgendwo ist wohl noch ein "Labyrinth-Spiel versteckt, das ich noch nicht gefunden habe). Das funktioniert soweit alles gut. Was ich schade finde, ist zum einen, dass man sich nicht wirklich bewegen kann. Man hat seine festen Locations, von denen man seine Kamera-Drohne losschickt. Relativ bald fühlt sich ein Foto wie das andere an, und auch die Aufträge unterscheiden nicht zwischen guten und schlechten Fotos, sondern nur keine oder schwierige Voraussetzungen (durchaus verständlich, da die professionelle Bewertung von Fotos viel schwieriger zu programmieren ist als eine simple Bedingungsliste). Hier muss man schon Lust haben, ganz von selbst Winkel, Aufnahmezeit und ähnliches abzupassen und zu ändern, um langfristig Spaß an dem Spiel zu haben. Zum anderen gibt es sowas wie ein "Endgame" - nämlich das Sammeln sämtlicher Karten und das Finden der letzten versteckten Erfolge und Mini-Games. Das ist aber vor allem eine Fleiß- und Warteaufgabe. Da kippt mir das Spiel etwas zu schnell von den schnellen Fortschritten zu "und jetzt passiert kaum noch etwas". Schau ich mir andere Rezensionen an, gibt es ja auch sehr viele, die nachdem sie ihre gute Rezension abgegeben haben, nicht mehr so richtig viel weiter gespielt haben. Das muss einem also klar sein, dass der Langzeitspaß an dem Spiel überschaubar ist, es sei denn, man hat wirklich Spaß daran, immer wieder aufs neue hübsche Tiere in letztlich sehr ähnlichen Foto-Umgebungen bei lauschiger Msuik zu fotografieren. Achja, und zu guter Letzt: Der Wechsel von einer Location zur anderen dauert gefühlt relativ lange (keine Ewigkeit, aber man muss schon wirklich kurz warten), so dass zumindest ich wenig motiviert bin, schnell Orte zu wechseln, wenn am aktuellen gerade kein passendes Tier für die Aufgaben findet (und ich es noch nicht herbeirufen kann, was mit der Zeit über gesammelte Karten möglich ist). Am Ende spiele ich selten mehr als zehn Minuten am Stück und vermutlich bin ich auch schon an dem Punkt angekommen, wo ich es immer seltener spielen werde.

This game is so beautiful and calming. There's no pressure to do anything so you can really take your time. There's some nice extra features, like puzzles. It's a very cozy game with a great soundtrack and atmosphere.

Having been a bird and wildlife photographer for decades, I was delighted to find this game! It's a very enjoyable game with no time limits with gorgeous African animals in numerous locations to photograph. There are tasks and jobs that increase your money and allow you to get all the tools for managing all the settings on your drone camera and control the weather and time of day. It's relaxing and great fun. You spend your time traveling from one location to another to find the animal in just the right conditions photograph and sell for money. You can sit in a chair and relax to just watch the animals or rest back at the lodge. There's a cat that has fun and different aspects you can choose, a variety of jigsaw puzzles to complete while munching on some refreshments on the table, all of which add to money and XP. The lodge is beautiful with plants to water every day. There are dozens of achievements to acquire and you can delete any pics you don't like or need to delete when your gallery is full. There are cards to collect as well. All in all, great fun for dozens of hours. :)

This is a charming game. Can be as chill or as fast as you want. Do you want to get out and take photos? Go for it. Do you want to run around, optimize every move? Sure can. Game felt smooth, loaded nicely, and manages resources well.
