In ScreenPlay, both players secretly script their scenes (i.e., their turns) in advance. Once you've locked in your decisions, the game cuts straight to the action, playing both turns out simultaneously. The result? Every Lead character has a distinct narrative journey. Over the course of a match, you’ll earn Narrative Points by playing synergistic cards and making smart choices. Complete the arcs of any two of your three Leads, and you win the game. No explosions required—though those help too.
This mechanic rewards clever deck construction, genre mastery, and good ol’ fashioned timing. It’s a game of stories within a story, where every match feels like a mini movie—even if the script makes no sense and half the cast is mysteriously missing in act two.
Just remember: knowing your opponent’s Leads and their story goals can help you sabotage their arcs before they reach their big finale.
